Stomach pains like labour, but not pregnant?

Anyone experience this? It started with period pain this morning (af arrived unexpectedly, but only stayed 30 minutes!) but is now right across my abdomen and feels like early labour. I’m definitely not pregnant as I’m on the pill, plus it’s been going on for longer than my labours anyway! Also, I’m halfway through a pack of the pill so shouldn’t be on my period anyway. If it carries on I’ll see a doctor but no chance of an appointment today, so just wondered if anyone could offer an explanation?

You can definitely get pregnant on the pill...

AmIOTTconcerned · 21/01/2019 10:47

I've had this a couple of times recently. Both at the start of periods. It was awful but it did pass.

Is your pill new? I.e. one you've only recently started taking?

People have fallen pregnant on the pill.

How bad is the pain, any other symptoms?

If the pain is severe then call 111.

Have you got kids?

Kidney stones or something like that? Constipation, wind? Failed pill could happen. Have you put on weight recently?

(I'm not a doctor but I think you should see one).

Was the bleeding heavy?

I've never experienced it mid cycle, sorry op.
Best get it checked out!

BarbaraofSevillle · 21/01/2019 11:38

I know two women who didn't know they were pregnant until they went into labour. At least one of them continued to have regular periods too.

BonfiresOfInsanity · 21/01/2019 11:41

Could be kidney stones. I passed a kidney stone ( I think anyway from reading about it afterwards!) but the pain was incredible and the closest thing I could describe it as was labour.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 21/01/2019 13:30

Pain has subsided in the last hour, so definitely not labour! Am sure I’m not pregnant. No recent weight gain (been dieting for 10 months, weight stable for last couple of months). I have been on this pill for years, nothing new there. Bleed was red but not heavy.

Miscarriage? Ovarian cyst rupturing? Would go see your GP if worried

Notquiteagandt · 21/01/2019 14:40

I had this and passed a huge clot. Instant relief. Turned out i had a cyst that was haemoraging.

Deffo go get checked out

Blou2 · 21/01/2019 14:41

The pain of a burst ovarian cyst and early / mid unmedicated labour were very similar for me. I would go see the GP.
