Musclefood (online meat supplier) - is it dodgy?

I placed an order last week and have had an email saying my order is on hold due to suspected fraud. They don't take telephone calls. Email enquiries but being responded to.

Are they not legit?

sorry - email enquiries not being responded to. I have called and every line just has an engaged tone.

Hmm - what's the URL of the website you've ordered from? I've just looked at www.musclefood.com and found the actual company name given as MuscleFood Ltd. I can find a similar, but not the same, company name on Companies House with a different registered office address. What company name does your email confirmation show? Contact your bank or credit card provider about the payment.

Right - just found that Advanced Muscle Nutrition Limited which was registered at the same address as showing on the website was dissolved on 9th Jan 2018. One of the directors of the dissolved company is a director of Muscle Foods Limited with a registered office in Poole so it appears to be the same company despite the slightly wrong name.

Are you sure you paid the correct company? I'm wondering if you may have been scammed by someone purporting to be the company because there are customer service numbers showing on the website.

I've used musclefood.com loads of times and the website looks just the same as it always does

Hmm. Fortunately I paid by paypal and so should get refunded even if they've gone bust but I placed a fairly large order so I'm a bit worried.

I know a couple of people who use them and have had no issues, I believe Laurence Shahlei is a brand ambassador/supporter (strongman contestant) and they seem fairly reputable? I would be concerned you may have been scammed by a lookalike site?

Used them all the time before I went veggie - completely legit.

I'm calling the Nottingham number on their website. Worrid they might have gone bust.

I order very regularly and never ever have an issue. They are fab

I tried to use them at Christmas to get my Turkey etc - 3 days before Christmas I got a call to say my payment hadn't gone through and if I doesn't try another card then it will be cancelled. I then gave them my credit card details and again it didn't work. I spoke to my bank and they said there i o reason both cards shouldn't work. The order was cancelled and I gathered that they took too many orders over Christmas and rather than admitting this they were saying the above. I had to go round for ages trying to find replacement Christmas food!

Well no delivery and nobody answering the phones all day. They're obviously off the hook. Every single extension option had an engaged tone.

I will hopefully get my money back through PayPal but clearly something is going on with them.

I've used them quite a few times over the past few years. Last 2 Christmas dinners for 12 have come from them, never had a problem. Hope this is just a one off and it gets resolved quickly
