WTF is this?

I was putting away socks in the top drawer (DH’s) when I came across this box and opened it. Of course I did (as if I’m not going to look).

What is it and why do I not feel great about this?

WTF is this?

It’s a tie pin.

It’s a tie pin.

Smile. Could be a proper expensive pearl one, or could be a cheaper copy.
So... did you think it was a sex toy, or an intimate piercing ring? Grin

empa · 21/01/2019 08:33

You've made me laugh OP, and that's not easy on the most depressing day of the year, apparently, and I'm off to have a tooth out. Thankyou.

ItsameAmario · 21/01/2019 08:34

What did you THINK it was?....

TheVanguardSix · 21/01/2019 08:38

I feel like a luxury idiot! Grin
I thought it was a sex toy (we haven’t had sex in, I’ve forgotten how long- that’s another day’s work!).
But yes, I did wonder who’s backside it was going to see the inside of.
A tie pin. Grin God I am a thicko. And clearly, I know nothing about ties despite all the (failed) Windsor knots I’ve done on the kids over the years! Confused

Posh sex toy! What would you do with it? Grin

TheEmmaDilemma · 21/01/2019 10:47

OMG. Awesome.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 21/01/2019 10:55

Awesome thread! Thanks OP.

I wouldn't have known what it was either but if I'd found a tie pin in Dh's drawer I'd be seriously worried. He's never possessed a tie in his adult life and wears the same muddy shoes to work, weddings and funerals alike.

TheVanguardSix · 21/01/2019 13:56

Well now that I know this little gem’s not taking the red eye special, I’m wondering, why it’s here in the sock drawer. Confused DH wore a tie on our wedding day years ago and the same ‘wedding tie’ was worn at his dad’s funeral- again, years ago. So who’s gifted this tie bling?
I should put it on one of the kids’ school ties and see if DH notices (the youngest’s tie- he still wears an elastic one Grin).
There will be a very boring answer to this, I’m sure.

His mum and dad have probably given it to him as a present at some point, and he didn’t think to mention it as it’s so awful!

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 21/01/2019 14:21

That's cheered me right up. Thanks op Smile

MamaLovesMango · 21/01/2019 14:25

Grin this has made my very miserable day!

WatchingFromTheWings · 21/01/2019 14:48

It looks like something his mum or dad might have passed onto him. My DH wears a tie for work and I've never seen a tie pin like that! The style of the box looks like in might be old.

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 21/01/2019 14:51

This has made me laugh out loud and now I’m imagining it as a kind of fancy Prince Albert ting. Brilliant.
