Genuinely interested as to who will be able to afford to buy houses/flats in the future, if prices keep going up and up. I live in Bristol and prices here are stupid compared to the number of ‘good jobs’ which pay enough to afford a mortgate on a flat/house. Prices have gone up and up to an extent that there wouldn’t be a hope in hell that I could buy if I were starting afresh.

There’s been so many new builds here lately, that although prices aren’t necessarily going down, they haven’t risen much either in the last few years (thankfully) as there is nearing a glut in housing. This is mainly as the new builds are so expensive to be honest! But yes, it is ridiculous; and even with schemes such as help to buy its out of reach for so many people.

That was just related to around here btw

People from more expensive cities will “cash in” and move to less expensive cities with a little capital in the bank.
