Mine were diagnosed last summer after atypical bleeding. I have a Mirena and take oestrogen HRT. Had no idea I have fibroids until the last couple of months when bleeding has become v erratic and the pain - jeez the pain! I am not bleeding today but the pressure and tenderness in my pelvis and back, all the way down into my back passage means I have spent most of the day flat as gravity seems to make it worse. Have a retroverted uterus so that explains the back and rectal pain but this has flawed me as have struggled to sit and walk. It’s not like normal period pain; more stabbing. Have booked a gp appointment but am keen to hear whether these symptoms are typical.
