Going to replace brushed cotton, coloured Aldi bed linen to pure white, nice, luxurious bed linen.

I've had a look at The White Company and TK Maxx. What other places are there? Budget us around £60 for a duvet set.

I've been impressed with the Pure Egyptian Cotton 230 Thread Count Fitted Sheet I got from Marks.

Nearly all the bedlinen in our house is from Soak & Sleep now. Or you could try John Lewis sale - it's the last day of the clearance today.

Thanks @GlasgowWarrior, I'll have a look in John Lewis now. We have a gift card from there so bed linen might be the perfect gift to buy ourselves.

I'll have a look in M&S, too. Thank you, @snowberry.

I bought some 500tc bedding from the Dorma range at Dunelm recently for the spare bedroom that I've been impressed with. I can't remember the exact price but it was around £60ish for a kingsize set.

SilverySurfer · 20/01/2019 14:18

I'm looking for new sheets too, though may go for a higher thread count. I always used to buy from The White Company but no more. I last bought sheets from them less than five years ago and they have become so thin that I recently put my foot through the top sheet. I've still got a pair of sheets my Mum gave me with the utility mark (made in 1940s) going strong but they don't feel like a 400 thread Egyptian cotton sheet Grin

I'll take a look at John Lewis, see what they have in the sale.

Try king of cotton

King of cotton

Sanderson sheridan or Christy from Just Linen online. Bargain. Go for a 400 thread count .

Buxtonstill · 20/01/2019 15:48

I was directed to King of Cotton from MN, register with them for email updates and you get a discount. I have 1000tc, they get softer and softer with each wash. Beautiful.

I recently bought some 200tc fitted sheets for childrens beds assuming they would be fine (they were £18 each) and im disappointed at how thin and actually scratchy they are! I find Zara to be good quality and my favourite sheet was from House of Frazer. Think it was 700tc. Agree that the quality of the White Company is disappointing.

RamblinRosie · 21/01/2019 01:26

Have a look at Costco, I’ve got a couple of their fitted sheets, gorgeous, not sure but I think 500 tc. Best I’ve found anywhere.

InSightMars · 21/01/2019 01:39

Tbh 200 tc is really at the lowest end for quality, I’d look for at least 400-500 tc, it might cost you a bit more than you’re thinking but it would be worth it for quality and durability.

Agree Costco bedding is excellent quality and very reasonably priced if you’re a member or know someone who is.

If you have ethics about such things, always go for American cotton as it is almost guaranteed that at some point in the production process Egyptian cotton will have passed through the hands of a child.
