Fluey bug - how long am I contagious

Thought I had a cold starting on Wednesday evening. Thursday morning I developed the headache from hell and a racking cough.

Three days in bed wiped out and I now feel much better, just very very tired.

Need to visit a relative who is just out of hospital and needs some practical help but really doesn't need this. Should I be uninfectious by Tuesday?

Are you coughing or sneezing?
What were they in hospital with?
I'd say of you're not still symptomatic and are doubly conscientious with handwashing etc, don't give them a kiss then you'll be fine.
Otoh if they're in any way immunocompromised I wouldn't risk it for a few extra days

Cough nearly gone, and only the odd sneeze.
Broken hip but severe dementia and had a dose of pneumonia.
I'll review how I am after another couple of days, and if I am still sneezing or coughing I'll hold off the extra few days

Wouldn't risk it just yet if they've had pneumonia. Def wait til cough gone. DH had what you had then in the second day of easing it came back and slapped him hard so mindful it might not have gone properly
