Is hard or soft better?

When it comes to mattresses. Looking at getting a new one as my current "memory foam" is more "concrete brick". Is there such thing as too soft for a mattress?

Any recommendations, preferably not massively expensive as am on low budget!

Medium!

Try and get pocket sprung if you can.

Lay on the bed on your back, your bottom should sink in and it should feel as though your feet are slightly elevated. That’s how to test if it’s feb right mattresss for you.

Neither. That's a very old fashioned concept, apparently.

You get the mattress that is right for your body weight...

I think Bensons do a good explanation. Maybe go talk to one of their sales team

Firmish pocket sprung with a memory foam layer on top is good.

Go into a store and try a few. Apparently most people prefer medium but I hated the ones I tried, and bought firm instead.

If you sleep on your side, your spine should be straight (not dip in the middle).

How old is your current mattress? You could probably just get a really deep memory foam mattress topper to vastly soften the current one.

Frickssake · 20/01/2019 14:19

Got a memory foam one. Makes you sweat. IMHO.
Got a Hypnos - not looked back.

SneakyGremlins · 20/01/2019 14:22

@RandomMess two and a half years old, but it was dirt cheap for reasons out of my control. Hence why I want a nicer one Grin
