Picture frames - searching for the impossible?!

I’m looking for either a copper or a light wood framed with a glass front measuring 50x70cm.
No mount, literally a framed piece of glass in that size.
Last time I needed one, I ended up paying a framer about £170 (it did have a mount) for it which was fine when I just needed 1. This time I need 3 and I can’t justify paying it!
Everywhere there’s a glimmer of hope, the front turns out to be perspex which is annoying as it scratches but also it slightly warps and distorts in shape over time which I hate.
I’ve tried a few shops (M&S, Oliver bonas, Anthropologie, Next, Dunelm, Homesense, and can’t think where else to try now) - am I going to have to bite the bullet and go back to the framer?
By the way, I know he will do a great job and I should be supporting local businesses but it’s such a lot of money!

Could you buy the frame then buy the glass separately?

I’m thinking about what you’ve been quoted and for what you need that’s really reasonable.

FWIW if something matters enough to me to frame it then I wouldn’t consider not using a mount or spacers - they are there to protect whatever it is you are framing. It’s surprising what crap and condensation manage to get in and eat at your art/photo.
