Hate the phrase "mum won't like that"

I hear my husband say this phrase and I hate it:

To give examples:
"Mum won't like that"

Child is trying to put wotsits up the cats nice!
Or
Child is drinking out of a puddle
Or
Cleaning the toilet with the dogs tail

I feel these are things "dad shouldn't like either!"

Why are we the not liking things police!

It’s the equivalent of “you wait till dad gets home.” Completely abdicating any responsibility for the behaviour of the kids.
Both parents should be in charge of behaviour. Both should be able to tell the kids to stop behaving in a certain way.
