DDs party

Tomorrow there will be 8 8/9 year olds coming over for DDs 9th birthday.
Do we need to actually do anything with them? Grin

Obviously we have food and drinks, the karaoke microphone is charged and I've found a good kids playlist with lots of lyric videos, I've also bought a basic jewellery making kit with enough stuff for them to make a couple of things each.

I feel like they're too old for party games. Is that enough though? Any suggestions for anything else we should be doing or should we just leave them to it?

Personally, unless I knew the kids really, really well and trusted that the group was very strong, I'd have plans ready to go so that no one could suggest the party was boring.

But I LOVED my dd's b.day parties, and put a lot of effort into them.

In my experience, kids just did their own thing at parties at that age.

I'd have loved making jewellery - my niece is 8 and she'd love that too. I'm sure they'll just chat and giggle and eat!!!! You could alwYs whizz up some cakes and let them ice them?

Personally I'd have some plans in case the kids got bored.

Depends how long you have them for - I'd say you'll get 20-30 mins out of an activity.

Definitely expecting lots of chatting, giggling and eating. They're a lovely giddy bunch so no worries about anyone getting bored.

That’s plenty to do. anyone who complained they were bored would just be crossed off my mental list of people to invite again!
