Sorry, wasn't sure where to post this, sorry if TMI

I ordered a mooncup cause I see it mentioned everywhere and thought I'd give it a try. I bought a B size and followed instructions re: doing a C shape to insert it, but it hurts going in and out and it did not fold out properly once inserted.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong? I could not seem to get it further up and it felt too low down too. I tried to feel around to see if it was inserted but it still felt partially folded.

How should I use it properly? I'm thinking of maybe just sticking to tampons after all.

I can't get on with Mooncups. I need something softer, Melunas work much better for me. That said there are other folds you can try, have a Google.

Cups to sit quite low, which can feel odd when you are used to tampons. That said you shouldn't be able to feel it, there are very few nerve endings in most of the vagina.

The C shape didn't work for me, I found the other fold suited me better.

Once you've got it in, squeeze your muscles a few times and that'll naturally put it into the right place.

Persevere - you'll get there!

Keep trying. It's awkward at first but it will click into place!

Some people find the mooncup too firm, so if you don't get on after practice it could be that. There's a quiz here that might help:

When you wash it at the sink, rinse it with cold water after. It helps unfolding it if it's less pliable. If it still doesn't unfold properly squat down. (Not recommended in public toilets.) This helps it pop open. It should sit quite low inside you. The base should be just inside.

The fold I do and have always done is the one where you just pull down the front with your finger so it kind of fans out.
