Cold sores on face (nor around mouth) - anyone!

I suffer from cold sores pretty regularly in the usual places, nose and mouth. Every now and then blisters that feel and look exactly like cold sores will appear elsewhere, typically on my forehead or on one side of my neck. If I put Aciclovir cream on them, it helps, in the same way as if they were around my mouth. They tingle, itch and crust over just like cold sores.

Have been run down recently and had LOADS. So dosed myself up with l-lysine which is supposed to help. It did. No more on mouth/nose...then a cluster on head! It's as if they just had to break through somewhere...

I can't find anything online about this, so am wondering if anyone else gets cold sores elsewhere on the face/neck? Or am I just special??

I’ve never really heard of this, a good idea is going to see a pharmacist. Won’t have to wait for appointment like in a GP’s and they maybe able to tell you what you need..
Good luck x

Recently I had a cold sore in my eye. The optician said that the virus can travel up and down all the nerves in your face/head so it can pop out anywhere.

I had a cold sore near my nose for weeks beforehand.

Got some cream from the GP, had to put it in my eye 5/6 times a day, it did work though.

I don't suffer from coldsores but I do think it's possible to get them other than around your mouth: a friend of mine at school used to get them on her cheek and just below her nose.
