Stress hives?!

Has anyone ever had hives due to stress / anxiety?

I’ve got hives, all over my legs and sides, which popped up a few days ago. After a google the rash looked like hives so I took an antihistamine and they went down. Next afternoon they were up again. It’s a nightmare to get a gp appointment here and j had no other symptoms so went to the pharmacist. They had a look and confirmed hives and they don’t think it’s anything more sinister. They asked the usual allergen questions (I’ve never had any known allergens) and I haven’t eaten anything different, changed soap or detergents or worn new clothes.... pharmacist then asked about stress and admittedly I am pretty stressed at the moment.

I’m in my final year nurse training and have assignments and deadlines coming out of my ears (which are unavoidable). I also have a long commute to uni and stress relating to applying for jobs as they are trialling a new job application system with our cohort. Also low level money stress rumbling in the background as a result of 3 years living on a bursary. Not to mention a 2 year old DD and some wider family issues which have been ongoing and basically shit.

So I guess it’s reasonable that the hives are stress based? I do feel stressed and anxious on occasion but it seems like an extreme reaction? Has anyone had this before? How long did it last? Any top tips?
