When I finish my coffee, I have to move the cup out of reach

If I dont, even though I know there is none left, every 3 or 4 minutes I will find myself reaching for a sip, or to see if there is a sip still left.
I'm a smart cookie, in general, but apparently remembering my coffee is finished, is beyond meConfused
Is it just me?

No but I usually do it as a hint to dp that he needs to make another one. (Sad look on face Sad)

Openandshut · 19/01/2019 11:06

I don't do that but I often forget that I've eaten my last biscuit and find myself reaching for it.

FlibbertyGiblets · 19/01/2019 11:08

yy to biscuit sadface EVERY SINGLE TIME. I mean, really? Am quite intelligent. (modest too ofc Grin)

ILoveMaxiBondi · 19/01/2019 11:10

I do the opposite. I forget I have tea right beside me and then realise when it’s cold. I blame MN. Grin

MayFayner · 19/01/2019 11:11

No, I get the opposite. I might consciously think that I’ve finished my coffee but keep getting a niggle about it. Then look and see there’s a third of a cup left Confused

I also get niggles about the last bites of things I’ve forgotten to eat when I’ve been distracted by the DC or something. For example I will feel compelled to look at the kitchen counter and then I’ll realise there’s a bite of apple or biscuit left there unfinished Smile

iklboo · 19/01/2019 11:13

Oh yes. The last biscuit. I swear someone is pinching them off me. I'm sure there was one left.

Skiphopnjump · 19/01/2019 11:14

I do this! DH thinks I'm bonkers. Glad I'm not the only one.

Azula · 19/01/2019 11:16

You're definitely not alone - I'm fairly acquainted with good old flavoured air as well!

Bloomini · 19/01/2019 11:23

I don't do this but I always have to leave a little bit of coffee in the cup. I can't bear the thought of drinking the whole cup. It doesn't matter what size the cup is either Confused

NorthEndGal · 19/01/2019 11:54

Phantom cookies are a thing for me too!

You need a bigger cup!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 19/01/2019 11:58

There's something very sad about reaching for a mug of tea and finding it empty.
Oh, the disappointment

amusedbush · 19/01/2019 12:11

This is exactly why I crush the middle of a drinks can when I'm finished with it. I've done it for years and DH thinks I'm mad but if I finish it, don't squeeze the middle and just leave it sitting in front of me I'll inevitably try to take another sip. If it's bent I leave it alone.

(This can was sitting on my desk from last night, just to prove my point Grin)

If only I could crush my mugGrin

Try it. You might surprise yourself Grin
