Why is my Apple Watch so stupid?

everyday I get 2 mins in the morning consistently registered as exercise from brushing my teeth (it’s on charge for my evening brush and doesn’t seem to register any additional brushes I might do)

The other day I was dipping nuggets in McDonald’s and it suggested I was going for a swim Blush

This week I’ve been decorating- arm up and down for hours, climbing up and down ladders etc and nothing.

I expected a bit of praise for such exertion considering it’s usual efforts (and my usual efforts) Hmm

I’m well aware that I sound like the person who says her diamond shoes are hurting btw. It’s just the inconsistency that’s pissing me off.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I change the dominant wrist setting even though it’s set to my dominant? or is it just how it is?

I wear mine on my left wrist, set as non dominant, and don't have the issues. Though mine is a first gen watch, so doesn't recognise stairs anyway.

My main issue is that a lot of the steps I take in my classroom don't count, as they aren't big enough steps to register - due to the nature of the classroom. I need to do the proper calibration thing whilst walking round the classroom - but it involves 20 minutes walking, and i just haven't got round to it!
