Me and dh really struggle to find something to watch together. We don't have hobbys as such but I'm finding life very dull and boring at the min. What do you all do with your time in the evenings?

Not much. Watch tv or play games on my phone. Hubby does the same, not the games part but he's addicted to twitter Atm so is always on there.

We joined the gym. We go straight from work so don't get in until 7ish. Have tea and chill out on here for an hour then in am ready for bed!

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 18/01/2019 21:20

2019 venture is going to be to both learn to play Backgammon....

Kemer2018 · 18/01/2019 21:24

On here
Watching tv
I cannot express how bored I am of this though.
Once the nights get lighter, I'll garden, cycle or go for a drive with my top down.

Read, Crochet, Sew, build Models ( as in very large scale sort of like Airfix ) in the Summer Gardening. And watch Boxsets......OH does the above but without Sewing and Crochet. We also have an interest in Family History......both in our very early 50's 3 DD's all grown up and left home......we have busy stressful jobs so make sure we enjoy our downtime. We will also volunteer one weekend a month at a local Military Museum once we get settled and our house finished as at the weekends we are finishing off a house renovation.
It may seem like we are really busy but I deal with my stress by doing things I enjoy

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 18/01/2019 21:29

Watch box sets, do jigsaw (it's my thing), do puzzles, talk.

popcornwizard · 18/01/2019 21:29

Drive the bloody kids around - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday stuff finishes at 9. I like Wednesday.

gentlyscented · 18/01/2019 21:31

Binge watch the hell out of series. That's what winters are for ☺️

PlumCakeChica · 18/01/2019 21:36

I like to sit down and chat to the dc about their day, once they’ve had a shower/in pjs because they are more relaxed. My dd’s are into practising ‘spa’ treatments which I encourage Wink but it’s nice to sit with them for a bit and catch up with them.

Then dh and I watch a box set or we go to bed and read/chat, always by 10pm as we are shattered.

Verbena87 · 18/01/2019 21:38

Backgammon is fab! Scrabble as well before we had a baby.

TulipsInbloom1 · 18/01/2019 21:40

We watch a couple of episodes of The Good Place together while having dinner. Then we either ply a board game, play cards, sit on our phones, one of us might go for a bath while the other watches their own tv they like.

Taffeta · 18/01/2019 21:41

Teens here so plenty of chauffeur duties
Try to watch something 9-10pm
Usually in bed by 10.15, we aren't night owls

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 18/01/2019 21:41

I've just played a few card games in the living room.
We usually just cook and eat tea, tidy and wash up and then sit in front of the tv or mess on our phones. Occasionally I'll go on the laptop and mess around with some arty-type images.
1x ac week I go out to do my hobby and 1-2x a fortnight dh goes to his.

MawkishTwaddle · 18/01/2019 21:44

Watch Netflix. I’m loving The Crown at the moment, but recently I’ve enjoyed The Haunting of Hill House and Sabrina.

Make scented candles.

Draw and paint using watercolour pens. I made my family Christmas cards this year; I really enjoyed it.

Walk my dogs.

Yoga class once a week.

Reading Group once a month.

Dick about on Mumsnet.

Read.

Have a long bath.

BTWifiwithFON · 18/01/2019 21:47

Clean up kitchen, do childminding paperwork, sort out stuff for next day, make lunches, put washing away and other general stuff. Have bath. Go to bed and mess about on phone or read book. I don’t watch tv. Once a week go to a gig.

3boysandabump · 18/01/2019 21:48

Watch tv, stuff my face and feed the baby

MarchInHappiness · 18/01/2019 22:02

Generally in winter, I will watch box sets, sewing and baking. Of course the ferrying of children as well!

I try and go swimming in the evening in the summer, go for a walk, take the kids for a bike ride.

RoseMartha · 18/01/2019 22:30

I have just sat down! Been on the go since half six this morning. Might watch something on iplayer or equivalent in bed or read. Still need to send emails, and do paperwork for my mum so will have to see. And that is assuming the dc go to sleep as have sen daughter who sleeps badly.

VioletCharlotte · 18/01/2019 22:42

Walk the dog, do yoga (at home or at a class), Mumsnet, read, bake, have a bath, meditate, chat to friends on WhatsApp

CosmicComet · 18/01/2019 22:46

Cook dinner. Take the baby to bed and spend 2hrs fighting to make him go to sleep. Then surf the net on my phone because I can’t leave the baby unsupervised in bed. Or watch a film if it’s DH’s turn to make him sleep.
