I'm wanting to send some cakes to a friend who lives in a different city, has anyone got any suggestions of an online company I can order from that they've used and were pleased with?

Thanks!

Just bumping for you.
My friend had someone deliver a wonderful HUGE cake to her as a 40th birthday present - it was actually 4 slices of each of 4 different cakes. a WONDERFUL present, and I remember looking them up at the time, and found you could order for a cake to be delivered each month throughout the year, which stuck me as another wonderful idea.
Really sorry though I can't remember the company now, it was a year or two ago.
I mean, a quick google brings several companies up, but I can't personally recommend them.
Hopefully this will bump for someone who can Smile

I’ve sent sponge cakes from sponge.co.uk before now, mostly as thanks for people / teams of contractors I’ve worked with who’ve done amazing things for us. From memory their cakes are about 13 quid and the first time I sent one I found a voucher where they got a cake and I got a cake free for the cost of postage - that was a happy day in the office for us too! We had the carrot cake and it was delicious, I sent some kind of selection thing with a range of flavours.

I’ve also sent biscuit cards using Biscuiteers before which look amazing and taste good apparently, and at Christmas I sent my aunt some macarons from MissMacaroon.co.uk that were amazing (we went round on Boxing Day so I got to taste test).

Suddenly realising how much food I send as gifts...!

Rachael’s Kitchen does cupcakes and, I think, Brownies

Sorry, meant to say Sponge is the company @BackforGood is talking about in her post too.

My friend has a brilliant cake company called Great Bakes
She makes a delicious array of tray bakes and sends them anywhere in the country in a stylish tin that you can then buy refills for.
I used to cook professionally with her and she is an amazing baker !
