If it's just you drinking it?

OP posts:
Ohgoon · 18/01/2019 19:21

I have a few on the go of bottles of different sizes but rarely less than a year.

boatyardblues · 18/01/2019 19:22

Surely it depends how fast you are drinking it?

Ffsnosexallowed · 18/01/2019 19:22

If it's one I like then a few weeks.

About an hour in our house Grin

Seriously if it's just me it'd last a good few weeks / couple of months.

maskingtape · 18/01/2019 19:24

I've got one I've had for over a year. It's nearly finished but I did have friends help in the summer. I rarely drink.

Thesearmsofmine · 18/01/2019 19:25

I finished one recently after about 8 months. I’m not a big drinker so a bottle of spirts will last name ages!

MelanieCheeks · 18/01/2019 19:26

I could get through it in a few dats, if I tried!

Need to know the REAL question.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 18/01/2019 19:26

A week between two of us

fussychica · 18/01/2019 19:30

70cl bottle, usually 4 weeks. That's me having one per night Fri, Sat & Sun. Might be much longer if I'm not fancying a g&t or I'm not drinking at all.

ThereWillBeAdequateFood · 18/01/2019 19:31

Anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks. But only if gin was the only alcohol I was having.

Oh and it can’t be December all bets are off in December Grin

MeetOnTheledge · 18/01/2019 19:32

A couple of years.

ChanklyBore · 18/01/2019 19:33

I’ve got one. I got it in April. I opened it yesterday.

TheLostTargaryen · 18/01/2019 19:35

About 5-10 years. We don't drink much but will come across dusty bottles every now and then and have a drink or two around Christmas if we can be bothered.

LEMtheoriginal · 18/01/2019 19:36

How long the gin lasts is directly proportional to my stress levels

UtterlyDesperate · 18/01/2019 19:37

On holiday, ten days Blush

At home, about two years Grin

SayNoToCarrots · 18/01/2019 19:38

A week, maybe two.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 18/01/2019 19:39

I love a gin, but have about 4 different ones open at the moment. 1l would last at least a year though, I don't really drink that much.

shutlingsloe · 18/01/2019 19:40

Several months between the two of us.

justasking111 · 18/01/2019 19:43

For us gin is a summer drink, with limes and lots of ice. We haven`t touched it for a few months now. But I guess in the summer we would get through three or four bottles.

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 18/01/2019 20:30

Oooooh, I'm a very slow drinker then!

I only tried gin within the last year (friend bought me a couple of ready mixed cans for my birthday last year to try as I'd been asking her what it is like), it is ok but I still prefer vodka and cider.

My BIL and his wife bought me a 700ml bottle of Absolut vodka for my birthday 18 years ago on Sunday and I still have just over an inch left in the bottle, so it will take me 18-20 years to drink the 700ml. At that rate it would take me about another 9-10 years to drink the other 300ml to make it up to the 1l.

So somewhere between 27 - 30 years!

(Taking out 4 pregnancies and preferring not to drink while breast feeding would reduce that by about 6 years, so taking off one third of the time makes it about 18 - 20 years.

I have a very small alcohol bill.

(Tbh I much prefer the vodka and coke without the vodka anyway.)

Peepingsnowdrops · 18/01/2019 20:31

I got a 70cl bottle at Christmas and I am finishing it tonight. So say 6 weeks? Usually only have a couple weekend nights.

goose1964 · 18/01/2019 20:33

About 4 years.

Aragog · 18/01/2019 20:34

We get a new bottle from a gin club every 2 months. It's normally just about gone by the time the new one arrives, esp if had people round. We do have others on the go too.

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 18/01/2019 20:35

It’s about 40 units, isn’t it? So 20 double measures. If we had guests over that would be one weekend in our house.

What type of gin is it? Always happy to take a recommendation Grin

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 18/01/2019 20:38

It depends on the gin. The lovely Spanish fruit gins get hoarded so last for a year or so, but we can burn through the lovely, readily-available Garnish Island gin in four or five weeks. I don't know if that's a litre or 750cl though.
