Housing Association offer

I put a bid onto various properties in December through the council system. One of them has been saying ‘under offer’ online for weeks and weeks but when I rang the council they wouldn’t give me a straight answer if it was my offer so I carried on bidding. They kept withdrawing all my bids from the other properties.

I found a better, cheaper one I wanted and bid on that on Wednesday, which closed today. I was the only bidder on the 2nd house.

Today they finally phoned but only just before I phoned them about house 2, and said I would get offered the 1st property but still unable to give me details such as the actual location (website very vague, link was a middle of a field) and looking at the rent, I realise I probably can’t easily afford it. I hadn’t worked out that per month was actually 4 weekly rent x 52/12 and realised it’s more than I pay now a month - but it a great property in a great location

I asked if I could withdraw that bid on house 1 and take the 2nd property, but they have withdrawn me already and it goes out again tomorrow and I have to just bid again. Angry

I am annoyed with myself for not withdrawing the other house sooner but the real lack of info and the very long wait has now meant I have probably missed out on so many other opportunities and especially the one I really am interested in now!

I am worried if I don’t take the expensive house I will end up bidding forever and ever and getting nowhere, don’t know how long it will take. But if I take the expensive house (new build) I also worry I might be missing out on a good opportunity to move at all
