Imposter syndrome

My friend is claiming on social media to have imposter syndrome. Isn't it associated with successful people who feel they are not really what everyone thinks etc? She works in a shop, I don't get it.

How mean spirited of you.

It's people who feel that despite the place they've found themselves in that they aren't worthy and have found their way through luck and that they're going to be "found out" to be a fraud. I know a woman who has worked in all manner of jobs and now works at a min wage job and still feels like it's a bit of a fluke why she was given the job in the first place.

That's one aspect of it.

I'm not particularly successful, but have suffered from it due to people trusting me to do a particular (fairly intimate) job when I was newly qualified. Thankfully with experience and posotive feedback I've mostly seen the back of it.

So people that work in shops aren't successful. Right.

Don’t be so dismissive of her job or anything else which is affecting her.
