On a scale of one to agony, how sore will I be tomorrow?

New fitness regime underway, and tonight I did a TRX programme. Stretches, lunges, squats, push ups etc, using suspension ropes and my own not insubtantial weight as resistance.

Well done! You may well be sore tomorrow!
I had my first fitness session also today! But I'm going to power through and do lbt tomorrow. Probably won't be able to move this weekend lol
Hope you don't feel too bad!

CormoranStrike · 17/01/2019 21:09

I’m doing fitness Pilates tomorrow night - argh!!!!

Personally I only ever feel sore if I’m lifting really heavy weights after some time away. Depending on your own fitness you might be ok as it’s just body weight

Protein will help you feel better and stretch stretch stretch. Pilates will help imo

Go for it!
We sound similar actually. I've decided I'm in this for the long haul and definitely need to improve my non existent fitness.
I can actually feel my muscles aching in my tummy this evening. I didn't know I had any muscle there!

CosyToast · 17/01/2019 21:13

Ibuprofen and a hot bath! And then more stretching! If you find you're frequently sore after exercise, try a muscle roller, I got one from Amazon for less than £15 I think and it really helps my quads after running
Go you!

PinkBuffalo · 17/01/2019 21:14

Come back and tell us about Pilates. I've heard it's supposed to be good Smile

greenelephantscarf · 17/01/2019 21:14

under proper instruction - not too bad.
take magnesium and drink loads of water this evening.
the stretches from pilates will help tomorrow.

Sitranced · 17/01/2019 21:47

It'll only be sore when you move.

ShizeItsWeegie · 17/01/2019 21:51

If you take Ibuprofen you won't gain muscle.

MumMidwife · 17/01/2019 22:56

Tomorrow you may well be ok, Saturday however is a completely different story!!! Of you can do some yoga/bodybalance on Saturday.

That might be well sore.

Epsom salts bath.

E20mom · 17/01/2019 23:02

You may need to do a rolling exit to get out of bed in the morning... I've been there.

SarahBeeney · 18/01/2019 07:40

I did a kettlebell workout last week and could barely walk for three days! Agony.
I could feel muscles and I didn't even know I had.
I'd like to try the foam roller thing although I guess that also makes the agony worse in the short term.

Deffo try the Epsom salt bath.

CormoranStrike · 18/01/2019 11:22

I actually feel fine, apart from a vague shoulder ache.

I now fear tomorrow haha

CatnissEverdene · 18/01/2019 11:25

A friend talked me into doing a ball based exercise class once. I was fine the next day and thought "oh I must be fitter than I thought". The next 3 days passed in a pain killer clouded fug. I literally couldn't move, and was glued to the sofa. I never went back Grin

PinkBuffalo · 18/01/2019 14:45

Good to hear cormoran
Have a good time at Pilates!

Tilikum · 18/01/2019 17:57

Glad you're not walking like a cowboy today! My first time at TRX I couldn't move without moaning for 3 days.

BCAAs (branch chain amino acids) are supposed to help ward against muscle pain if you take them before and after you work out. You can buy tablets online.

CormoranStrike · 18/01/2019 21:02

I didn’t go to Pilates - I have eaten shit all night instead and now feel ill.

If anyone finds my self control so please PM it back to me.

amusedbush · 18/01/2019 21:27

The first time I used the TRX I had pain in muscles I didn’t know I had Grin

PinkBuffalo · 18/01/2019 22:37

Don't panic OP! Tomorrow's another day!
I'm not due for another class til Thursday myself.
Be kind to yourself

Sillybilly1234 · 18/01/2019 22:46

It is the day after tomorrow that will be worse but keep it up. It gets better with time.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 19/01/2019 14:59

It's the 2nd day for me too. I did bootcamp this morning and my glutes (arse) are already twinging so god help me tomorrow.

TakeAChanseyOnMe · 19/01/2019 15:04

I got a foam roller from Flying Tiger, think it was only £5. Definitely helps with tight muscles.
