Does anyone have the Vtech toot toot pirate ship??

Please can you tell me where the God dam cannon button is?? DD got it for Christmas and to do the story mode thing it keeps saying "push the cannon button to clean the cannon" I swear I've pressed every button on the thing! Where are you cannon button?! 😭😂

Had same issue. I think it is just the button that fires the cannon (on the cannon). Of course that button is not electric so nothing happens when you press it.

If anyone has a better idea I am ALL EARS. I spent most of Christmas Day looking for a * cannon button.

OMG me too - I had a thread on it a little while ago.

Someone said on that, that it’s the button on the cannon but that the cannon has to be on the ship properly. Apparently it needs to click in rather than just be on. I haven’t put this to the test yet.

You just put it the cannon ball in and fire it don’t you? Although sometimes it doesn’t work. And obviously we lost the cannon ball weeks ago so now just poke the button inside the cannon!

Yes you need to fire the cannon. If it's not in right it won't make the noise or fire it.

The only thing that happens when you press the cannon ball trigger is that it fires the cannon ball - all the other buttons are “linked in” to the system so it says for example that you have pressed the wrong button. It feels very odd that the ship refers to the plastic trigger thing on the cannon ball as “the cannon ball button” as though it is similar to the anchor button etc.

Yes I have thought about this slightly too much.

We have the same issue! Our canon fires the ball out fine but we can't get past that point on one of the adventures! "Press the canon button" aaargh. I used to have a glamorous life I swear.

We had to wiggle the cannon around a bit to get it to work. Can anyone tell me if the monkey is meant to make a noise when you put it on the magic thing? The other two little pirate figures do and it looks like the monkey has connector bits

Sblessed are you saying the “electric” bit recognised the pressing of the trigger button? (I wonder how, it didn’t seem to be “connected” in any way). If so, I need to go home right now and play with my pirate ship.

OMG thank you!!! We got this for my ds for Christmas and its all we hear "press the cannon button, ooops no, press the cannon button". I will wriggle the cannon about tonight and see if that makes a difference.

I have just wiggled, pulled, pushed swore at in frustration the cannon and still nothing. Sigh. We will never have a pirate adventure Sad

stormblessed yes my monkey works on the magic point thingy. He is currently navigating the ship according the funny man.

Ok I just made it work - by taking the whole cannon bit out!! It makes the firing noise and tells me I fired the cannon.

Oh yeah if you pull the cannon out you can see the little button. Still not made it work by actually firing the cannon though

I've done it!! Smack the cannon to make sure it's pressed as far down as it can go. Will take a pic now hold on

Yes! I can verify! Push the cannon in really really firmly and it then links to a tiny black button inside the cannon fitting tube thing on the ship. We have cannon firing! The toy is a lot better with that working... I am getting quite in to Captain Monty.

If you lift the canon u can see a connection button. So basically just lift the canon out and it then works. Only found this out this morning 🤣

Don't know if you are still trying to get the cannon to work. It should click into place, you do have to push hard, its a loud click,I just figured this out. The front of the bow should be touching the underside of the cannon, it now works and my son and I are off to sail the seven seas.

I got it second hand, I made an account just for this thread. Pushing the cannon in worked. Now if only I had captain monty so I could get past the next bit. I wonder how long the person before me had it and put up with "oops, no, press the cannon button" before deciding to get rid of it
