My mother borrowed my car and lost the keys she found them months later in the garden

BendingSpoons · 17/01/2019 20:33

Mine were once on the wardrobe floor. I had hung up what I was wearing and they fell out. Hope you find them.

HaveAWeeNap · 17/01/2019 20:36

Kitchen windowsill, by the plant

explodingkitten · 17/01/2019 20:37

Under the post? That's wher DH always loses them, he puts a letter on top, can't see it anymore and it's "lost".

explodingkitten · 17/01/2019 20:38

Also check all toilets and around all the sinks.

coldcoldcoldcold · 17/01/2019 20:39

In the washing basket? Drawers? Plastic bag? In the bed?

Ozziewozzie · 17/01/2019 20:40

My dh left his in the car ignition!

Thisisit777 · 17/01/2019 20:45

Fallen behind unit you dump them on and jarred behind so not on the floor x

Stickmanslittleleaf · 17/01/2019 20:47

Have you locked your car or has it auto locked? I had a spare key hanging where the keys live and once when I used it my key was in the footwell, my car auto locked because I'd taken the key out of the ignition and left it for 10 mins. What make/ year is it?

GoGoGadgetGin · 17/01/2019 20:48

Behind the cistern in the loo- if you are like l was when pg the loo was always first/last stop!

anniehm · 17/01/2019 20:49

Last time ours were "lost" they were in (adult) DD's coat pocket, she had left something in the car and fetched it during the evening (she doesn't drive). Irony was she was screaming at me that she would be late to an important seminar and she was wearing the coat!

Retrace steps, check shoes in case they fell inside, clothes, by phone, in fridge (yes found mine in there once!) kettle, anything you could have gone to straight from the door, oh and coat/bag lining, is it broken?

WhyNotAlready · 17/01/2019 20:50

I don’t suppose you’re in Hertfordshire? Some car keys were found in our street this morning...

mclady · 17/01/2019 20:55

Try the biscuit tin.

GunpowderGelatine · 17/01/2019 21:00

My son puts mine in my shoes now and again

DrGradusAdParnassum · 17/01/2019 21:04

Mine, too, would still be in the car. Blush

LadyFlumpalot · 17/01/2019 21:04

Bedside table? In the back door? In the gate padlock still? On or behind the hallway table or wherever you chuck post? I usually chuck mine back into my handbag after locking the door and they have ended up in the inside pocket.

mnahmnah · 17/01/2019 21:09

I found my house keys (a week after getting new ones cut!) in the bottom of a bag we keep coats in, in the utility room. They’d been scooped up with hats/scarves etc. Could yours have been caught up in something you’ve put away when you came in?

Ohrobin · 17/01/2019 21:14

On the coat hook - my lodger once hung his keys then hung his coat over it. He was worried he had left them on the door as he remembered unlocking the door and was first one home. Cue changing the locks then 2 days later we found them when he went to put his coat on!

chilledteacher · 17/01/2019 21:46

Freezer? Side of the sofa between cushions? Next to the landline which was ringing as you came home yesterday?

alpaca44 · 17/01/2019 21:48

Dressing gown pocket?

Slippershoes · 17/01/2019 21:54

Between the mattress and the footboard? I got locked in an old flat once because of this Shock and had to phone in late to work.

moonbells · 17/01/2019 22:03

I was bought a pack of Tiles for Christmas to try and save family sanity at least 2 mornings a week. Naturally in the three weeks since I got them, I've not lost the damn keys once.

Good luck finding yours...

goingtotown · 17/01/2019 22:09

In the kitchen bin.

Doonewanker · 17/01/2019 22:24

In a cupboard where you put something away just after you came into the house. Mine were next to a loaf of bread in my kitchen cupboard last week after a massive search.

BeekyChitch · 17/01/2019 22:26

Outside the front door or under the car?
In the fridge?
Down the back of the couch?
Bathroom?
