Everything above plus a pair of cheap flip flops for the shower room after you've had the baby. They don't get cleaned between every shower prob only once a day and without being disgusting everyone's got post baby bleeding x

If you’ve got time to shop online, get a really long phone charger from amazon - sometimes the plugs are in awkward places and having an extra long one will make life a lot easier!

Maybe some snacks as well in case you’re peckish after the surgery? Depends on what kind of surgery though!

I’d also pack earplugs and an eye mask as well, but you may be fine sleeping with noises/light levels.

Will you have bandages/dressings following surgery? Have you made sure your clothing choices allow access for doctors/nurses checking; plus ease of getting on/off for when you leave?

I would also make sure I had a couple of key contact numbers actually written down somewhere in case my phone died.

Depending on how rubbish/groggy you’ll feel after surgery, are you able to download a couple of mindless TV programs or films onto your phone via the bbc iPlayer app or similar? Just in case you don’t feel like reading but want to pass the time. Don’t forget headphones if you want to do this!

Sorry just re-read not baby related ignore my first reply x

Also, perhaps some music or an audiobook? Even downloading some whale song/rainforest noise type stuff - being on a ward can sometimes be either isolating or upsetting, depending on who else is on the ward; being able to retreat into a little bubble might help.

Small amount of cash in case someone comes round offering newspapers etc.

SockQueen · 16/01/2019 23:41

Water bottle, for once you're allowed to drink again.

Second the suggestion of downloading some episodes onto your phone/tablet/laptop - easy entertainment and hospital wifi not always up to streaming! But take headphones!

@mummy2three2014 as per original post it's not to give birth and I won't be allowed to shower.

Pillow
Fleece blanket for comfort
Dry shampoo

KeepCalm · 17/01/2019 08:12

I've no hair @GloatyMcGloatface and am always too warm so discounted the blanket Grin

I'd ordered a specialist pillow but after promising me it would arrive yesterday it's now saying it's out for delivery and will be here sometime 17-29th Hmm considering I'm now in hospital that's no use Confused
