Can't stop listening to the songs!

I love it too but the Reimagined album is just awful, absolutely sick of hearing the tracks on the radio at the moment, none of them are a patch on the originals.

HelloDarlin · 16/01/2019 22:36

I found it really hard work, DH gave up half way through, I forced myself to keep going until the end.
The songs all sounded the same, I couldn’t make out one scene from another... The plot was fuzzy.
However, I liked the opera singer & Zendaya. Would have liked more dialogue / stories for the “freaks” too.

Like the music and there's some good visual stuff, but the story is rubbish. I'm also uncomfortable with the way it presents Barnum as a straightforward nice guy. One particularly shocking part of the story not mentioned in the film is that he bought an elderly slave to put on display and publicly dissected her body when she died.

Songs get me

lazymare · 16/01/2019 23:31

No. I thought it was average. Never Enough got all these plaudits but she's not even that great a singer and it goes on too long.

PissOffPeppa · 16/01/2019 23:34

Anyone ever thought of going to a sing-a-long version? I think the Prince of Wales Theatre was doing one - would be good to take the kids. It's the kids that want to do it, honest...

I think you mean Prince Charles Cinema. It’s very near the Prince of Wales Theatre which is housing The Book of Mormon. Probably don’t want to get them mixed up if you have kids Grin

Nope. The film was ok and I did buy the album but I skip half the songs due to that horrendous warbler overpowering everyone else.

mummymayhem18 · 17/01/2019 14:44

The actress who played Jenny Lind who performed never enough was I think the only one who didn't sing herself. It was actually sung by Loren Allred and Rebecca Ferguson mimed it.

EmmaStone · 17/01/2019 15:50

Tried to watch it when it was on over Christmas. None of us got engaged by it and switched it off after about 40 mins. Don't get the fascination at all (and I'm a musicals fan in general - love La La Land, Sound of Music etc etc).

Sammysquiz · 17/01/2019 15:53

The bartender is played by Daniel
Cloud Campos - he’s a well-known choreographer and dancer, and he choreographed the scene.

mrsm12 · 17/01/2019 16:24

That reimagine album is brutal.

SilverySurfer · 17/01/2019 17:12

Ugh no.

AdobeWanKenobi · 17/01/2019 18:45

Nope. I have serious issues with the movie portrayal of PT Barnum.

Film is bloody awful, but the songs are great.

Rewrite the Stars is my favourite.
Slightly in love with Zac Efron singing that...and I have a wife Grin
