Eurocamp recommendations near Venice

Looking to visit in May but only know of Union Lido. Can anyone reccomend a camp site? Can either hire a car so would like an easy drive from Venice airport or can get a bus if easy and a good supermarket nearby. Any ideas?

We stayed with eurocamp at Camping Mediterraneo, Cavallino-Treporti in 2016, so going back a little bit now, but it was a nice campsite when we were there. Access to the beach from the campsite, nice pool, restaurant was decent enough. We hired a car and drove to the ferry port, think it was about 15 minutes away, for days out to Venice and Burano.

We stayed at the peschiera del garda eurocamp. Easy access to the station and Venice is accessible in about an hour and a half. The setting of the accommodation is stunning but we found the lodge a bit basic. It was a great location to explore Lake Garda.

Lake Idro. Stunning. Enjoy.

Should have said- we have been to Lake Garda before and stayed at Bella Italia. Looking to go to Adriatic side this time for the beaches.

Eurocamp in Casavio. Stayed last year and thoroughly enjoyed!!!

Marina do Venezia with Venue holidays. Really great site with beach and water park - Venue's prices much cheaper than Eurocamp. I'm taking my kids for the second time this May bank holiday. No need for hire car as there is bus that goes direct from airport to the campsite

sanitygirl · 18/01/2019 13:39

Marina Di Venezia! Should add there is a supermarket onsite and another cheaper one just outside the campsite entrance. Easy to do a day trip to Venice. Really highly recommended!

Have you been to Union Lido? That's the only one I can recommend- I've been going there since I was young. We love it there.
No need for a car as everything you need is on site and we usually get a taxi from the airport, but there is a bus too.
Let me know if you want any more info.

Shamelessly following ... What sort of distances are these from the airport? Any particularly close?

Molly357 · 18/01/2019 14:36

Thanks! Union lido booked up with Eurocamp- do you know of any others that are good to book with?
Marina de Venezia sounds great-will look it up and Venue. Thanks

Canvas are good there...
There's quite a few others too- I'm trying to remember who they were....

It's a really popular site though, we used to book a year in advance..

winesolveseverything · 18/01/2019 14:44

Roan
Sun camp
Thompson Al fresco
Bolero- they have lovely accommodation in a really good spot on the site- although I always thought it looked a bit cramped up together- just my opinion though, might not bother others. I think it's because every mobile home as a large decking area that is shaded- it just makes it seem closer together than perhaps other tour operators which would just have a smaller patio with a parasol..

winesolveseverything · 18/01/2019 14:47

The site itself has its own accommodation too- everything from the hotel to bungalows to tents. You could give them a call if you have specific dates- they speak really good English and are very helpful..

About 40 minutes from the airport.

Molly357 · 18/01/2019 14:51

Marina de Venezia sounds perfect. How long does bus take?

We stayed in Ca Savio in 2017 and it was fantastic. Not too far to get a bus to the ferry for Venice and even closer to get on a cruise around the lagoon visiting Murano and Burano (and another island I forget its name.) Plenty of entertainment and loads of pools too.

MissWimpyDimple · 18/01/2019 17:06

I worked on the campsites on that strip.

Marina Di Venezia is the closest to the ferry port and has lovely beaches and facilities.

You can get a bus to the airport or book a taxi.

Ca Savio is also large and slightly less regimented.
Marina Di Venezia gets my vote though.

Venue are cheaper than Eurocamp. Not that many tents any more from any company. More mobile homes now and some of them are complete luxury! Venue tend to be more basic but still very good.

MiconiumHappens · 18/01/2019 17:16

Another vote for Marina De Venizia. We took the boat to Venice.

Facilities were great, as was the beach and the kids club.

We’re staying at ca savio next week, can anyone tell me if there’s a cash machine there or where to get cash? I’ve got some and a loaded card. Can’t see any mention on the eurocamp or camping website.

Sweetspinach · 21/07/2019 22:00

We stayed in Ca Savio a couple of years back and while it was a fantastic site, none of the mobile homes had aircon and I have to say in Italy at this time of year it's an absolute necessity. We dreaded the nights and suffered a lot! Not sure if it's still the case but it's a mistake i will never make again.

Karwomannghia · 21/07/2019 22:04

Thanks!

Karwomannghia · 22/07/2019 07:12

@Sweetspinach where were the nearest cash machines? I have a preloaded card and have to get cash out before I can use it in shops.
We have a fan only in the mobile home but I think it’s in the wooded part. Wish us luck!
Any other tips appreciated!

Sweetspinach · 22/07/2019 08:29

Apologies, my menopausal brain has no recollection of cash machines at all! Am sure there will be one within walking distance but it might be an idea to use the one at the airport so you have enough to get you by until you get your bearings. Insect repellent!! Lots!! Can Savio is particularly bad for mosquitoes due to an abundance of trees. I do also recall the on-site shop sold refillable wine bottles which you could get refilled for about a euro!! They had red and white wine on tap..if you're so inclined..

katewhinesalot · 22/07/2019 08:32

Pra del torri is also good.
