What did your do/dh think of the Gillette advert?

I personally loved it and teared up Blush. I think it’s a really important and positive message. I showed it to my dh knowing that he wouldn’t be one of the dickheads who somehow found it offensive. He was neutral about it when I thought it’d really get to him like it did me. He just looked a bit non plussed and said it was good but not amazing or tear jerking. He said it was a good message but he just didn’t really have any kind of reaction.

Interesting. I'm waiting to see if DH brings it up (he's on Facebook so must have seen it by now) although I'm dying to ask him. I think I will make it until 5 minutes past whatever time I see him this evening before I cave in.

If I'm honest I'm a bit worried he won't like it Sad

CocoDeMoll · 16/01/2019 16:37

I hope he likes it. I’d be disappointed to be with a man who somehow found it offensive.

My DP loved it. When we were discussing the negative feedback it was getting he said 'if a guy doesn't see the positive image then he's part of the problem'

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 16/01/2019 19:28

DH thought the message was good however ... "They still make sh$t razors".

fatpatsthong · 16/01/2019 19:31

My dh didn't like it and we had a 'heated debate'.

hugoagogo · 16/01/2019 19:33

Do I want to know?

Jaxtellerswife · 16/01/2019 19:41

My partner thought it was a great message. After a long pause he did say "not sure it's got much to do with razors though has it "Grin

DappledThings · 16/01/2019 19:57

"Very good. Sad state of affairs when it takes a razor advert to tell us that."

ReaganSomerset · 16/01/2019 19:59

My DH liked it. Had to watch it with the sound off though due to sleeping baby in the room.

ReaganSomerset · 16/01/2019 20:00

And YouTube subtitles aren't terribly accurate...

Tulipvase · 16/01/2019 20:01

My husband thought it was great. And was disappointed at a lot comments on the article he read.

CormoranStrike · 16/01/2019 20:03

I’ve just watched it and think it is very powerful.

Doesn’t matter if it sells razors. It tells a powerful message off the back of their famous slogan.

itsboiledeggsagain · 16/01/2019 20:12

Can someone link it?

BoneyBackJefferson · 16/01/2019 20:13

Good message, but its not an advert, its more an infomercial about how the company is planning to change is corporate identity.

Its a shame that the razors are shit and they over charge women for essentially the same product.

The product quality won't change, but it will be interesting to see if the price of its women's range comes down.

Impicciona · 16/01/2019 20:15

DH loved the message, he's of the opinion the sooner the better women rule the world. However he was upset by the comments on the video from MRAs. He said that not getting the message meant they were part of the problem.

AlecOrAlonzo · 16/01/2019 20:18

Dh thought it was good that a big company are using their presence to make a statement. A powerful message. He was really surprised at how much negativity there was from some men. He didn't find it offensive in the slightest. I suppose the men who are offended are identifying with the asshats in the film and seeing their own "not cool" behaviour. Reckon they're maybe a bit ashamed and defensive.

CocoDeMoll · 16/01/2019 21:27

Glad the majority of your men liked it. Dh isn’t big on expressing emotion at the best of time but I’m still a bit disappointed tbh.

DP really liked it. He was not surprised that Piers Morgan didn't like it.Grin

Walkingdeadfangirl · 16/01/2019 21:29

Looks like it aimed at women, it isn't very masculine.

CocoDeMoll · 16/01/2019 21:35

I thought the same when I showed dh and got the puzzled face. It’s definetly aimed at women.
