Eye drops for child eye test?

My 3 year old had the drops in her eyes around 9am this morning to dilate her pupils. We were told the effects would wear off after 4 hours but her pupils are still dilated. How long did it take for them to wear off on your child?

Does she have light coloured eyes? I was told it could take longer in light eyed children. My son has very dark eyes and it still took most of the day for them to return to normal

It can take most of the day to get back to normal

That’s pretty normal I think, my DD regularly has these and her eyes are still dilated until she goes to bed, so often 6-8 hours.

I always find 4h is a huge underestimate, 6-8 is v notmal

DS2 had them when little and the effects were still visible the next day.

Thank you. My daughter has brown eyes. Fingers crossed all is back to normal by tomorrow.
