How do you feel good in January? Bleuuurghhhhhh! Ideas?

How on earth will I make it through the next few weeks/months?

Broke! Tat in shops! It's dark! Just back from hols so no way to have more breaks for a bit.

DCs have exams, the nights seem long, I am trying to give up booze.

How are you making yourself feel 'nice'?

Also, I have no clothes for work. It's like a jumble sale out there. What can I wear?

Ideas, please!

Trying new recipes that don't need loads of expensive ingredients.
Homemade soup
Binge watch Netflix or box set
Book you've always been meaning to ready
Early nights
Find a new addictive podcast
Tidy, declutter and deep clean a room or area in your house and enjoy relaxing in the space
Can't help on the work clothes thing. I'm trying to do a capsule wardrobe for work with clothes I already have or maybe forgotten about. Clothes swap with a friend?

Ooh some great ideas, thank you Pineapple90

Sounds obvious but not to me - will look up something interesting on Netflix.... I did the room thing the other day. Forgot about eBay! Your capsule wardrobe idea reminded me!

Feeling a bit better... hopefully early nights will help, too.

Gah! Is just such a crappy time of year!

I go on a hoilday in my head! I pick a place, say Florence and read a novel set there, watch italian movies, get a guide book and read all about it, go on trip advisor and look up the nice restaurants and entertainment, go on Google street view and walk around. I look up recipies from the area and cook those, drink red, wine eat cheese while listening to Italian opera. I think I enjoy it because I love planning holiday as much as being there.

That's a great idea, Lucylugs! I instinctively do bits of this - daydreaming today about next holiday. But I still feel a bit miserable. Can't get this right this year, for some reason. Urgh, Maybe I need to try harder. WIll pick a place, film, and book....
