That wasnt from your dog?
Somehow it is uncomfortable

Have done many times. Yes it’s gross, but it’s less gross than scrapping it off DCs shoe. And I consider it my good deed of the day. I don’t have a dog.

HoraceCope · 16/01/2019 05:53

and you dont have a dog? so you buy nappy sacks for the purpose?

Coldhandscoldheart · 16/01/2019 05:54

@todayisbetter you are a better woman than me, I just become enraged, and walk along bellowing, ‘MIND! Mind where you step! There is POO!’
Perhaps I will follow your lead. And request a few more bins from the council.

todayisbetter · 16/01/2019 05:56

Our village council gives out free dog poo bags.

jessstan2 · 16/01/2019 06:02

Yes, hand in a plastic carrier and then dispose of.

HoraceCope · 16/01/2019 06:04

ah , my nappy sacks of choice, tesco value, are thin and flimsy, but they do the job for my jack russell,
perhaps i shall follow @today's lead

UrsulaPandress · 16/01/2019 06:05

Nope. Fine with my own dog's but a stranger's makes me heave.

Ellieboolou27 · 16/01/2019 06:11

No I wouldn’t, I always pick my dog poo up but not responsible for others.
horace Tesco loves baby nappy sacks so much better, I find the value ones too thin and need to double them, half of them get blown in the wind when trying to separate too! ♥️Jack Russell’s I’ve one too

Hellokittymania · 16/01/2019 06:15

To those of you who go out of your way to pick up other peoples dogs mess. I think you. I can't see, and I can't stand stepping in mass. Especially since it's so hard to clean after. So thank you.

MarkingTimeIm59 · 16/01/2019 06:20

Regularly, from the football pitch at our local recreation ground. It’s vile but if I (and other responsible owners) don’t pick up after the scum that happily let their dogs poop where children and adults play, then there will be a total ban on dogs at the rec which will be a massive blow for me.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/01/2019 06:23

I wouldn’t even pick up my own dog’s mess (hence i’ll never have a dog) 🤢

Antiquevintageandrusty · 16/01/2019 06:28

Yes, because the park on my doorstep is absolutely lovely, used by adults and children alike. Tons of dogs with mostly responsible owners. It isn’t a big deal for me, I have bags in my pocket and pick up. Probably only see one that hasn’t been picked up once every three weeks.

blueskiesandforests · 16/01/2019 06:34

MarkingTimeIm59 who is letting their dogs shit in the football field? Antisocial entitled selfish idiots! Even when that's picked up there'll be 6 year olds in shorts and t shirt falling on that shit smeared grass! Envy [not envy, we need a vomit emoji]

No wonder people are put off amateur sport in the UK! Bloody hell - who walks their dog and let's it piss and shit on a sports field! I'm very glad I live somewhere with fewer dog where and a system where dogs have to be registered and owners are financially responsible for damage they do - and no shit on our village sports field!

EmmaJR1 · 16/01/2019 06:42

Yep and always will. I live on the doorstep of a massively popular dog walking spot with massively twattish owners who seem to never pick up shit when visiting! 😤

I have 2 dogs, a toddler and a baby so it infuriates me!

fleshmarketclose · 16/01/2019 07:18

I have done and don't doubt I will do again. I pick up all my own dog's poo, I have picked up other poo when it was left near where I was picking up after my own. I've often picked up next to the dog poo bins (who does that ? it seems bizarre to me) and occasionally I've picked up poo that is left on the pavement (not as often as tend to walk dog away from roads) because I hated cleaning dc's shoes when they were small and had stepped in some.
It's not pleasant but I hate that some dog owners give responsible dog owners a bad name by leaving their mess.

HoraceCope · 16/01/2019 07:19

somehow it feels worse when its cold!

OP posts:
Pissedoffdotcom · 16/01/2019 07:23

Most days. I don't own a dog anymore but the paths round here are disgusting. People also let their dogs shit on our front path - we have several unsteady, elderly folk in our block who would be unable to do the ninja dance. Much easier to pick up than scrape off buggy wheels/shoes/mats.

People are selfish gits. Don't wanna pick up shit for 15 years? Buy a stuffed animal

cstaff · 16/01/2019 07:29

Yes but only if it is outside my gate. Btw I don't have dogs.

Maelstrop · 16/01/2019 07:43

somehow it feels worse when its cold

I'm with you there! I've accidentally picked up thinking it was my dog's then felt it was cold, double icky!

I do pick up other dog's poo if it's obviously in the way.

WatcherOfTheNight · 16/01/2019 07:48

Yes ,I do it almost daily.
I think it's awful that other dog owners aren't picking up after their dogs in our local parks .
If I see them at the time I offer a bag .
Otherwise as we've always got plenty of bags for our own dogs ,we pick up others that have been left.
We use certain places daily & I'd rather them be clear of poo.

Mulberry72 · 16/01/2019 08:31

I also clear dog poo from my DS team football pitch and I don’t even have a dog!

DS is a goalkeeper and the amount of times he’s come off the pitch covered in dog poo from diving about in goal is a joke! Why do people allow their dogs to use what is clearly a football pitch as a toilet?!

The first thing I do when we arrive at any grass football pitch that DS is playing in is check the goal areas for poo, while another couple of the Mums check the rest of the pitch.

Some people are just disgusting!

dancinfeet · 16/01/2019 08:47

No, I don't have a dog one of the very reasons being that I don't want to pick up poo (DD is also allergic to dogs) so I absolutely would not pick up poo from someone else's dog.

drinkswineoutofamug · 16/01/2019 08:53

I've done it of recent. I walk dog around the local park. Always have pockets full of poo bags and dog treats. It's part of being a dog owner, to be responsible for cleaning up after them.

Canshopwillshop · 16/01/2019 08:56

I do this sometimes if it’s in an obvious place. I also pick up the poo filled plastic bags that some people just dump - why go to the effort of picking it up and then just leave the plastic bag lying there 😡

GemmeFatale · 16/01/2019 09:26

Yep. I have a dog, I’m almost always carrying poo bags (even if he’s not with me), it takes me two seconds, why wouldn’t I?

I do keep thinking I should pick up the litter I see on our walks too but that’s a bigger endeavour and would mean bringing a bin bag, maybe rubber gloves, getting the dog to wait for several minutes at a time while I picked up all the packets/bottles/fast food wrappers. I should stop making excuses and just do it really
