Can’t take this anymore

Please distract from the discomfort and lack of sleep. Tell me anything!!

Yet another sleepless night as I don’t have a mattress and I’m currently sleeping on multiple old flat quilts on a metal frame. This has gone on for 12 months now. Please talk to me to keep my mind off it!

Why are you if you are?

Why don't you have a mattress?

lonesomeonbauble · 16/01/2019 03:23

Whereabouts are you OP?

NicoleNoPants · 16/01/2019 03:33

Not sure if it’s any help OP but Sport Direct are doing air mattresses for £7.

I’m up with my naughty baby! She has slept through all week so I thought I’d just rock her back to sleep when she woke up at 12. Fed and changed but still unhappy! Walking round the block, lullabies and white noise have been pretty ineffective too Sad

lonesomeonbauble · 16/01/2019 03:35

I’m in Liverpool.

Aww how old is baby, Nicole?

I can't sleep either.

I broke my wrist ten weeks ago. I think I'm withdrawing from the strong painkillers so my sleep is all over the place.

So fed up.

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 16/01/2019 03:37

I’m so sorry, I have a spare mattress and would help if I could. Is there is a sue to register to collect and donate?

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 16/01/2019 03:38

Maybe old sofa cushions? Have you been to a British Heart Foundation shop? They do some that are cheap, not free, but cheapish!

Pandamodium · 16/01/2019 04:54

Do you have a local Salvation Army? My mam worked for citizens advice and used to help alongside them for things such as this. You don't have to be religious or anything.

Wotev · 16/01/2019 05:13

A blow up mattress will do the job. I slept on one for months until I could afford a bed.

Hi OP, hope you don't mind but we have a little post that we always put up on similar threads; here goes...
Sadly, we at MNHQ can't know with 100% certainty that any poster is genuine, no matter who they are or how long they have been around. As frustrating as it is, we're not able to vouch for anyone here.

So we always ask everyone to remember that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are - and remind folk not to give more to another poster, either financially (in cash or gifts) or emotionally (in time or care and support) than they'd be prepared to lose if things went wrong.
