Bank letters keep getting stolen

DH has an issue with his bank letters being stolen. This has gone on for several years. Every time he gets a new card sent out or opens a new account, either the letter with the card goes missing, or the letter with the PIN number, or both. This is literally every time, across a coupe of different banks.

Our mailbox is secure, and no other mail goes missing, only his bank letters. I receive all of mine, for what it’s worth.

I’m concerned about the possibility of identity theft and how that may affect his credit rating, particularly as we will seek out a mortgage in a year or two.

I said to him he should alert our local post service and he said they won’t care. So what next? Non emergency police number? I can’t see that they will be able to do anything.

Has anyone else experienced this?

You used to be able to collect these letters from the bank. I'd let the post office know, check all my credit reports and think about getting a mail box.

I once had a problem paying for some shopping. Turned out someone had nicked our cards and PINs and gone on a £2k shopping spree.

Police set up a sting with the bank and post office and the postman was caught red handed with our new cards and PINs. (Amongst a shocking number of other people's cards).

Get it sorted OP.

Where do you think the letters are going? If the post box is secure do you think it's someone at the sorting office or the postman, have you had the same one all the time it's been happening?

Well, I’ve had a bank card go missing in the post. But tbh, the incompetence of the person dealing with it, they probably didn’t send it out in the first place.
