2nd baby worries

We’re currently thinking about going for baby number 2.....my DS is 3. I’m very anxious though as he was a big baby at 9’13 and I had a really difficult time after the birth...couldn’t really move, stitches bursting, infections etc....Has anyone had a traumatic first birth (and afterwards) and been fine with baby no.2?

Me. Baby 1s birth was traumatic and I had an amazing birth with number two, at home no complications and nobody there except me an DP Shock

@lemonface aww that makes me feel a bit better lol! Just worry as last time it was awful afterwards but I only had my newborn to look after where as this time I’d have a newborn and my DS too!

Nobody else replied!?
I remember feeling so worried about number 2, I wouldn't even talk about it with anyone. I really think you will be okay, your body knows what to do xx

1st birth was incredibly long and drawn out, ended up having Syntocin, and a third degree tear.

2nd birth was three hours, had to have an episiotomy but no issues with that and to be honest given my previous experience with the tear, I wasn’t bothered by this.

My first was also nearly a lb heavier. I was so worried my second was going to be a 10lber as everyone was telling me second child tends to be bigger. But she was just over 8lbs.

The only thing I found harder the second time around were the after pains! They really caught me off guard as I didn’t have any with my first.

Oh and my second was lb lighter too. Smile

My first was under 7lb. Induced. Midwives didn’t listen to me. Traumatic. Struggled with fear of birth again to have a second. 2nd was over 9lb. Midwife lovely. Not induced. Honestly i’d be happy to do it again tonight it was lovely.
