You’re making me stupidly emotional every single time I watch you - and you’re my son’s favourite right now so that’s a lot.

I bawled three times tonight. Three. It’s ridiculous.

You're welcome Smile

fruityb · 17/01/2019 22:01

I’ve always loved the dancing and the culture and the respect for nature and making the most of there resources and such.

I want to know more about it now!

I think it's Tokelauan, fruity.

Oh yes, Mandarin. "This does not define you" gets me every time too.

thebigmaniswatching · 17/01/2019 22:02

Having children has done it to me too, I was notorious in our family growing up for having a heart of steel, nothing could set me off, now totally different story!
I’ve jst watched the dumbo trailer and sobbed and I didn’t even have the sound on! When they take his mama away😢

NashvilleQueen · 17/01/2019 22:07

Also love Lin M-M so Moana and Mary Poppins Returns are big favourites.

Coco makes me cry so much. The animation of Mama Coco is beautiful. I’m welling up now just thinking of the Remember Me scene. And my other favourite film is Big Hero 6. Cried and cried at that one too.

NashvilleQueen · 17/01/2019 22:07

Tangled is just a brilliant film. It doesn’t make me cry in the same way as coco and BH6

Drogosnextwife · 17/01/2019 22:10

We went to see coco in the pics, I turned round in floods of tears to see DS10 also in floods of tears, which me me cry more. Bloody heart breaking. I cry at everything though!

Seacow87 · 17/01/2019 22:13

I cried at Secret Life of Pets. When they go in search of Dukes old owner and you see him as a wee pup. My 4 yr old laughed at me.

TheCraicDealer · 17/01/2019 22:27

I can't watch Tarzan without crying. And I have watched it at least 30 times. "Cause you'll be in my heart..."

"For one so small, you seem so strong- my arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm" Sad When DNeice was three weeks old I had her overnight and had Disney songs playing and that fucker came on. I just held her and had a little cry because I loved her so much Blush It's a good thing she could only see like 15cms in front of her face at that point because it wasn't pretty.

Fruity I was in Tahiti and Bora Bora there in October- it was incredible. Moana and Six Days Seven Nights were two big reasons why I wanted to visit that part of the world!

In Moana the only voice actor who isn't of Polynesian extraction is the guy who plays the chicken. Compare that to Aladdin where all the actors where white....mad how times have changed.

fruityb · 17/01/2019 22:34

That’s a fab thing isn’t it - I think something like this needed that level of respect. And it’s so well done. They’re all so gorgeous.

gaggiagirl · 17/01/2019 22:37

Coco. I just cry so hard at that film. The final song when they are all together 'forever' 😭😭😭
BH6 when Tadashi doesn't escape the fire 😪

AGoodMandarin · 17/01/2019 22:39

Also, since my dd’s Moana obsession I have started following The Rock/Dwayne Johnston on Instagram and I bloody love him. He’s such a nice guy. Have a look at his clip where he sings ‘you’re welcome’ with a little girl who I think is unwell and has asked to meet him - if that doesn’t melt your heart you must be made of stone.
I can’t admit this anywhere else, but I feel like you guys understand me Grin

codswallopandbalderdash · 17/01/2019 22:43

Moana fans here.I always find myself sniffing loudly at certain points. DS now back to his Monsters Inc / Monsters University marathons (which suits me as they are both good)

captainpantbeard · 17/01/2019 22:47

I listen to the Moana soundtrack in the car (on my own) Blush

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 17/01/2019 22:49

Coco is actually an amazing film- it’s not scary at all, doesn’t show death or loss the way the story is structured. Beautiful animation and the way they explain the Day of the Dead is fascinating.

DH can’t watch Remember Me being sung to the little girl, he wells up

FiaMarrow · 17/01/2019 23:06

Coco is beautiful. Tangled - where the King and Queen go to light the lanterns and they look so sad and worn, not knowing that she's close. I was a teary mess watching that with little DD. She was oblivious of course!

fruityb · 18/01/2019 06:39

Remember me is so clever - it’s sung in two ways and then when you hear it the way it should be it changes it completely!! I just felt myself going “aaah!” But then getting sad. But it’s so well done and the story of how people don’t leave us is lovely. I think we could learn a lot from dia de muertos

In Moana the only voice actor who isn't of Polynesian extraction is the guy who plays the chicken.

My favourite factoid about Moana is that Hei-Hei the chicken is voiced by... Alan Tudyk. Grin

Moana walking serene and unafraid across the bare seabed with her hair streaming in the wind from screaming, burning Te Ka... Oh man.

MrsJamin · 18/01/2019 12:15

😭 Crying reading this thread! Motherhood sure wrecks your crying inhibitions! The Lion King has always meant a lot to be too, when Mufasa dies! The sadness that Simba feels is palpable. I went to see the musical and upon the very first chord my eyes were full!

plominoagain · 18/01/2019 12:23

Oh God . Toy story 3 came out the year DS was going to uni . TS1 came out the year he was born , and is still his all time favourite film . When they packed up Andy’s room ,when he leaves for college , and his mum hugged him , I was properly properly howling . DH was horrified !

PunishmentSnart · 18/01/2019 12:31

Oh God, Baby Mine gets me right in the feels. I often sing it to DS3 and have a good old cry. Most of Dumbo makes me cry actually, I feel so sorry for him Sad
Coco is brilliant, had a cry in the pictures at that one.
I'm a massive crier though and I think I've passed it on to my two oldest Ds's. I'll often turn round and they'll be having a little weep at a film.
Does anyone remember the short animated film Granpa? Heartbreaking.

dontfluffthefluffer · 18/01/2019 13:44

@CountessVonBoobs

Steve the pirate from dodgeball! (He will always be that to me and I was so excited to see it was him)

2ducks2ducklings · 18/01/2019 14:33

@PunishmentSnart
Oh god! Me and my brother and sister had this on video when we were little. We were literally talking about it last week. It was so traumatic! It should have had an 18 certificate due to the mental anguish it caused.
