You’re making me stupidly emotional every single time I watch you - and you’re my son’s favourite right now so that’s a lot.

I bawled three times tonight. Three. It’s ridiculous.

The bit where she parts the sea waaaaaaahhhhh! 😭

And I also can't but join in with 'I AM MOANAAAAAAAAAAAAA'!

God I love that film!

Beerflavourednipples · 17/01/2019 12:36

Can't help but join in...

SaveKevin · 17/01/2019 12:52

Just reading this thread has made me tear up.

The first teacher DS had that really connected with him was from new zealand and they did the mythology of moana and maui's stories.
So it gets me as it connects with a time that he really grew and found his feet.
I have to be "busy" every time its on.

doctorboo · 17/01/2019 13:05

I’m crying ugly tears just reading this thread. I never cried before I had my children.

MoveOverDustBunny · 17/01/2019 13:16

Monkeyface Big Hero 6 is one of the saddest films, ds realised early on how often I leave the room if it’s on.

I never used to cry at films, after children I cry at the smallest thing in any film. We watched Finding Neverland not long ago, I couldn’t see for tears.

KaliforniaDreamz · 17/01/2019 15:46

A Monster Calls had me wracking in the aisles

fruityb · 17/01/2019 16:18

Baymax... I haven’t watched that again because of that. Are you satisfied with your service, argh!!

I read a monster calls and it broke me - I darent watch the film.

Animation gets me tons more than live stuff. I watched the good dinosaur once and sobbed so much!! That Dino has the saddest face I have ever seen.

I think Moana and Inside Out are both overrated

But the Toy Story trilogy is the best film trilogy ever made.

I was taken to see The Fox and the Hound as a child and I still can't think of the line 'We'll always be best friends, won't we?' without welling up.

3luckystars · 17/01/2019 18:44

Have you seen The Little Prince? My children wont let me watch again because they were sobbing out loud at it, it is lovely though.

thebigmaniswatching · 17/01/2019 19:04

Sorry for a derail but I’ve not seen coco, I reeeeaaaalllly want to but my 6yo is very sensitive, will it completely traumatise us both or is it worth it?

fruityb · 17/01/2019 19:07

No trauma I don’t think - it’s actually quite the celebration. No one dies - they’re all still with us. It’s a nice film I think.

I still cried though 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe watch it first - it is lovely.

@fruityb Thankyou, I always jst feel a tiny bit pathetic watching a kids film on my own bit maybe I’ll give it a goSmile

dontfluffthefluffer · 17/01/2019 20:08

Have now got a massive throat lump prickly eye thing going on reading this.

TS3 - all my children know I cry/snot/sob at this.

Up gets me even just thinking of it.

Wall-E/moana/brave/tangled (in the boat with the lanterns)/dumbo (I'm not looking forward to the new one for this reason)/inside out. Yeah- so basically I'll cry at any Pixar or Disney movie and selected adverts Blush

fruityb · 17/01/2019 21:15

Don’t even. I saw a picture of dumbo from the new one and wanted to cry. No chance.

And watching kids films is the best. They’re just happy and I still learn something from them.

haverhill · 17/01/2019 21:23

I haven’t seen Moana but now really want to.
Bing Bong’s death had me sobbing buckets. The incinerator scene in TS3 was properly harrowing. The end scene itself though is absolutely beautiful, probably one of the best final scenes ever.
Nothing, however, will be worse than watching Bambino’s aged 5. At ‘the scene’ I had to be carried bawling out of the cinema Grin

haverhill · 17/01/2019 21:23

Bambi!

fruityb · 17/01/2019 21:32

The incinerator when woody sees them all and then buzz just reaches out. Fucking hell. I can’t cope with that!!

Moana is genuinely a brilliant brilliant film - I think it’s one of the best.

2ducks2ducklings · 17/01/2019 21:32

I totally agree with a previous poster about the 'baby mine' section of Dumbo. It physically makes my heart ache. Most of the previously mentioned films make me cry at some point, but none stir the emotion that 'baby mine' does in me. I adore the song though.

2ducks2ducklings · 17/01/2019 21:37

I have a question about dumbo though. In the film, the last verse of the song goes 'from your head down to your toes, you're so loved goodness knows'. But every other version I've heard of this says 'you're not much, goodness knows'.
Am I hearing things or have I got this right?

AGoodMandarin · 17/01/2019 21:48

Yes!! I thought it was just me! My dd is obsessed and every time I hear
‘They have stolen the heart from inside of you....but this does not define you...’
I get a bit teary!

theluckiest · 17/01/2019 21:49

Well for goodness sake, I couldn't even get through the Dumbo live action trailer without welling up...

Was in floods during Mary Poppins Returns too. Totally unexpected. I swear having children makes you more emotional. I used to be a rock. I'm now a wet sponge and I cry at adverts for God's sake!!

I did actually love and well up with pride at Moana (I'm a massive Hamilton fan and was so proud of Lin Manuel Miranda...like he's my son or something. I'm clearly a loon...Grin)

fruityb · 17/01/2019 21:55

I’ve been listening to we know the way most of today... Is it Hawaiian they sing in? Pardon my ignorance. It’s just gorgeous.

I love Maui and love when he does the haka at Te Ka.

Didn’t realise it was so popular! We’ve all clearly opened doors here people 😂😂
