School business idea for DD

veryverytiredmummy · 15/01/2019 19:37

DD has to come up with an idea to make money selling goods or services to other kids at high school. She's done it before with baking small cakes and biscuits but doesn't want to do that again (because the teacher told the whole class how successful it was when DD did it so the whole class has nicked the idea!).

The idea is to make as much money as possible.

Help!!!!

When I did this as a kid (years ago) i got in loads of Nesquik milkshake powder/milkshake straws/Crusha etc and served milkshakes instead. That might be an option?

This may out me.....we bought lots of natural coloured tote bags from amazon, coloured batches using different dylon colours in the washing machine, then bought some iron on patches. The unicorns, strawberries and Harry Potter related stuff sold best - but I hear Narwhales are the new unicorn!?

For this year we’ll be doing the same and marketing them as pencil cases or make up bags. Flower headbands are also easy to do and popular.

Can you set up an ice your own biscuit stall? Pack of digestives, icing sugar and food colouring.. cost pennies and easy

Justmuddlingalong · 15/01/2019 19:53

Tie dye is big this year, apparently. The tote bags from Amazon tie dyed would be good. Every one would be different and not a massive outlay.

Popcorn did well at school, popped at home and put in those sweetie cones

Ideas that have been the most successful at our school during the world of work week our children have to do are: slime, decorate a cookie/cupcake, ‘stress balls’ of balloons filled with flour and faces etc drawn on, flextangles, fruit and marshmallow kebab sticks and ‘cocktail’ making - different squashes that you can mix together! Smoothies is popular but the mess and the smell is horrific.

CakeNinja · 16/01/2019 07:28

Sorry, that should say making smoothies is popular.
Oh yes, and popcorn sells possibly better than slime!

New Look is selling (corduroy) hair scrunchies at the mo - and they are what we made for our enterprise project at school in the 80s! Easy to sew.

Yes hair scrunchies are back in! My dds are going mad for them. They like the velvet type ones. School uniform colour would be good.
