Can you get in trouble for using a fake ID years after you used it

...with no proof you ever used it.
So here's the story. One of my close friends son who is now 18 used a fake Id in a local bar. Now he never caused trouble in this bar in fact apparently he didn't even drink in it he just went to see the bands playing a few times.

Anyway so he used a fake ID to get in (doorstaff are easy to get past). Anyway so now this woman me and my friend know (don't ask me to go into detail about her my entire family and my friends entire family hate her) is gonna report him to the bar because she's a regular and she's a nasty B*tch (this is her being nice compared to some of the other stuff she does).
Anyway there's no proof he used the Fake ID since it was Months ago, that ID is now shredded and I'm pretty sure he even burnt it at a friends house during a Bonfire type thing.

So anyway what I'm asking is could he get into any major trouble. I know he could probably get banned from the bar but is there anything else that could happen if they have no proof outside 2 witness's and maybe a few bar staff recognising his face. Please reply fast my friend is getting really worried

No evidence no crime.

ScreamingValenta · 15/01/2019 19:39

I doubt anyone would care so long after the event.

Yulebealrite · 15/01/2019 19:41

Storm in a teacup. They will laugh at her or at the very least look baffled.

SexNotJenga · 15/01/2019 19:41

They won't give a shit.

(they would've done if they'd known earlier, but now he's just another well behaved paying customer)

theonerealdiva22 · 15/01/2019 19:42

thanks everyone will tell my friend to let her know she can stop worrying

No one will give a shit. Having worked behind a bar.

SoyDora · 15/01/2019 19:43

They really won’t care.

BeachtheButler · 15/01/2019 20:47

She might get banned as being a troublemaker. But if he caused no trouble and put cash across the bar, why would they give a shit.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 15/01/2019 20:52

It’s not a criminal offence to enter a bar before you’re 18 is it?

robrobinson · 15/01/2019 20:59

Surely shes simply causing trouble for the licensee rather than the friend? Either way, she'll be laughed at and seen as the shit stirrer she obviously is.

JockTamsonsBairns · 15/01/2019 21:30

I'm a former pub manager, and I really wouldn't be bothered at all with this. At most, I might get the bar/door staff to brush up on their skills in weeding out any potential underagers, but I certainly wouldn't be wasting any headspace on something that might or might not have happened months ago. In any event, if he wasn't consuming alcohol, then you could quite reasonably say that there's no case to answer anyway. It's all just bluff and bluster, don't worry.

TSSDNCOP · 15/01/2019 21:33

If everyone that used fake ID was subsequently donbed in and banned there’d be no one in any bars over 18.

I cannot imagine how few shits anyone in the bar would give, so I say egg her on and make her look like the dick she is.

@Ali1cedowntherabbithole probably should Have mentioned this I'm from Northern Ireland and the rules are as follows

  • Under 18s cannot be in a bar without a adult
  • they must leave before 9:00
