London activities for kids

Taking the kids (3 and 6) to London on Saturday to meet an old friend. I used to live in London so know it well, but not from a perspective of the kids! So I am looking for something relatively cheap, not dependent on the weather, not far to walk (I.e. close to a tube station!), and not the science museum or NHM (already done those!).

Any suggestions?!

Transport museum in Covent Garden. Nice walk over to south bank too.

Oo, didn’t realise that was in Covent Garden, handy for places to eat!

Second the transport museum, as I think the cafe has a soft play area too - perfect for letting the kids run off some energy while you rest!

There used to be seats for eating your packed lunch too! I dint remember soft okay but there was definitely a ‘Wendy bus’ next to the cafe - but the whole place is a playground!

My kids love the transport museum and kids go free, so cheap day out. Also they love the stratford discover childrens story centre, its right next to the DLR aswell, literally a minutes walk, and 5 minutes from westfields.
