If you had a sweep, did it start labour?

I'm booked in for a sweep tomorrow ahead of being induced Sunday but I'm just wondering what percentage of ladies actually go into labour after a sweep..

Was that your first?
I had a two sweeps and the first was on a Tuesday, nothing happened, had a second (very thorough!) on Friday morning. went into labour 12 hours later, baby born early Saturday.

I had three sweeps and none of them anything. I eventually had my daughter 16 days over mu due date. Good luck with yours

Had a sweep and baby was here 24 hours later. Sweep was fine 😀

Yup - baby came about an hour later 😂 I was on the triage unit because my waters had broken and they were going to induce me, checked and said I was only 3cm and did a sweep and BAMMMM it all kicked off and baby was born on the triage unit in under an hour.

I had 5 and my induction still took 4 days. So no!

First baby I had one and I think it started contractions too early, they started as really bad period cramps. I think I was about 2cms dilated when I went in for the sweep but I might be wrong, it was a long time ago. My labour was very long but I suppose that's quite common with the first. Second baby I refused the sweep and went into labour the night before I was going in to be induced ( Thanks god) 5 hours labour from start to finish. Wether that was down to just being left to let my body start itself, I don't know bit I was really glad I didn't get a sweep or an induction.

Not straight away no, but I think the couple of sweeps I had definitely helped as their was a difference in dilation between the two.
