I am in sleep deprived hell with my 4 month old. I am second guessing everything and I need you to decide this for me!

Today DS has had 3 naps totalling 5 hrs. He is prob knackered as he is sleeping awfully at night. I am going to bed when he goes. He woke from his last nap at 4.15 PM. Usually I would put him to bed max 2 hrs after his last wake up but 6.15 seems really early (we have tried early bed and it didnt help). I have tried the app Huckleberry which suggests leaving him til 6.40 for bed but that seems a long time for him to be awake.

So choices:

  1. Give him another nap at about 6 and put him to bed later
  2. Put him to bed at 6 and either eat when he has gone to sleep or skip dinner
  3. Follow Hucklberry and leave him a bit longer
awake than normal for bed.

Help!!

My DS for ages went to bed about 10pm and woke up at 10am. I let him sleep when he's tired, so watch for his sleep cues.
If I were you I'd do the same. Even if that means trying to "force" him to sleep.

As for dinner; anything you can snack on is a winner imo. Sandwiches, sausage rolls, pasty...

Hope his sleep improves soon!

Dead thanks. So another nap?! Or bed?!

See I'm very tired...

My DD used to go to bed at 6.30 when she was that age. I’d honestly put him down at 6.30, have a bite to eat and sleep myself if I was you!
