My friend has been advised to get a tablet for her three year old who has autism. She needs something sturdy also a strong case and a screen protector... Advice please.

it might be worth her looking into something like a second hand ipad, from somewhere like this. the one i have linked is not the newest model but it is sturdy, and you can get a case like this to protect it. all the best x

Maybe the Kids Fire Tablet from Amazon. I think if you buy the kids version there's a no quibble warranty (although worth checking out the fine print). We have one for DD (who's 9yo) and the Kids Unlimited bolt on is great as all the content is curated and suitable for her age. I don't have to worry about her accessing anything dodgy. I think there was a recent Mumsnet Product Test on it, so might be worth checking the feedback on there too.

Def the kids fire. The case comes with it and is brilliantly sturdy and the 2 year warranty covers pretty much anything a child can do to it! Like a pp i can relax when my dd is on it as i know she cant see anything even remotely unsuitable on the fire for kids bit. Think its £1.99 a month but its free for the first year you have the kindle. To buy a different tablet with a case even nearly as good would set you back loads more and thats before you look at apps. Theyre a bargain!

It's the case that's important , my ds has an iPad and it had a special case on it designed by a mym with a child with sn. I'll try and find it .

We have ipad with this case and a screen protector bought in this exact situation. Tried the kids fire but found it a shite waste of money.

Thanks everyone. She's looking at the fire....
