DO just called to hospital as FIL transferred to ICU for uncontrolled bleeding..He was in hospital.following suspected Heart attack last week. I had hysterectomy on Thursday for.endemetrial cancer. We both have this awful flu. Don't know if I can cope.

Oh that sounds awful for you, do either of you have someone with you? Flowers

booboo57 · 15/01/2019 03:34

Thank you for your prompt reply. His sister is at hospital too. I'm on my own. Don't feel I can call anyone in the middle of the night. Hence the need for a virtual hug.

Are they far away from you? Just wondering if you could get there to be with them so you were not on your own?

GoGoGadgetGin · 15/01/2019 03:38

And don't want to sound trite but any ddog or dcats at home? Stroking animals meant to be calming and positive.

Virtual hug @Booboo57. Awful for DH, family and you but also look after your own health; you will be of more help to DH and family. Flowers hug.

Thank you but can't drive due to my op. Also tried to get a taxi to.take DH to hospital as I was worried about him driving in a state but couldn't get one to answer the phone. To be honest don't feel well enough to be at hospital. Though could try getting.taxi lafter. Does anyone know about this uncontrolled bleeding thing?

I don't know much about it. One form is a complication after a heart attack. Your FIL is in the right place now, and I'm sure that they'll be doing everything they can to help him.

It sounds like you're having a rough time of it at the moment as a family, OP, and that you do need to be at home. Get some rest, if you can. BrewFlowers

I'm so sorry!

Honestly, love, you're only 4 days post-op. I know you're probably worried sick, but I think the best thing you can do is be sure your phone is fully charged (or plugged in) and nearby, make a cup of well sugared tea, and snuggle down on either the sofa or the bed with a comfy duvet. You needn't try to sleep, put something mindless on the telly.

And I wouldn't go to the hospital. The last thing your DH needs is to be worried about you in a taxi trying to get to the hospital when you're not only post-op, you're ill. His sister is with him, they'll take care of each other. Send him texts or call him with encouragement and your love. He'll understand, I'm sure.

Sending a hug and Flowers Was your FIL put on blood thinners, perhaps a reaction to the medication?

robrobinson · 15/01/2019 05:05

Sending a hand hold here. Sounds like you're having a very difficult time. Flowers

I'm not woo or knit your own yoghurt but I do find meditation music on YouTube very good for calming my anxiety. Maybe it slows my heart rate or something but it is soothing.

Hope things get better for you soon xx
