Hello, I have 2 faint positive pregnancy tests and I also have taken 3 digital which appeared as ‘not pregnant’ but once I had opened them up it clearly had 2 lines! I’ve been having few symptoms lately and I am quite nervous.TIA Smile

The digital ones tend to be more accurate sorry, try a test in a few more days but doesn’t sound promising

SophiaEstepanian · 15/01/2019 02:57

But as soon as I cracked the digitals open they were pregnant!

The digital ones need higher levels of HCG to get a positive result. When you get the result it will be correct, but you need to wait longer to get them.

GEt yourself a First Response standard test, that will be the most sensitive you can get.

Sorry OP, this isn’t the result you wanted but give it time

costacoffeecup · 15/01/2019 03:29

If they're the digital with weeks indicator they always have two lines even if you're not pregnant. Not sure about the ones without.

PyongyangKipperbang · 15/01/2019 03:39

What you have to remember is that a standard test is meant to be read by you, your eyes, so has to show its results in a way that is hard to misinterpret. (Ignoring the TTC craziness of seeing a positive in what is clearly a negative test, been there, done that).

Digitals are meant to be read by the ..... whatever it is that gives you the result so is put together in a totally different way. The lines are not at all relevant in the digital one.

thegreatbeyond · 15/01/2019 03:53

Picture? Did have faint line 8 days past with my last baby - 2 year old snoring loudly as I write!

mindutopia · 15/01/2019 04:42

It’s still very early. Give it 2 days and try again. I felt horribly nauseous and was certain I was pregnant. Took a test at 10 dpo. Absolutely nothing. Not even a hint of a line.

I continued to feel awful though. Re-tested at 16 dpo. Very pregnant! He’s sleeping in my arms as we speak. But I’ve never had a positive at 8 dpo, even with strong symptoms both times, especially not with a digital. I’d try again tomorrow with an early test.

Good luck!

Try again in a day or two and make sure it's with the first wee of the day. I was using the clear blue digital tests when TTC as I kept getting line eyes. Thought I was experiencing symptoms so tried 2 days before my period was due (early response test) and got a negative. Had more symptoms and tested the next day - BFP! That BFP is sleeping soundly in her cot.

PrimeraVez · 15/01/2019 06:26

As a few others have said, the digitals always have 2 lines when opened up, so unfortunately you can't rely too much on that. I know it's hard, but wait another 3 or 4 days and hopefully you will have a clear answer.

Tiredeyes21 · 15/01/2019 06:47

Use the first response at 8PO much much accurate

SophiaEstepanian · 15/01/2019 14:19

I took one today on my first wee and it’s got three lines!! Two on the top and one on the bottom!!!

Omzlas · 15/01/2019 15:11

First wee of the morning is ALWAYS best to use. I found both Tesco and Asda tests quite sensitive but the digital ones not so much. Stop opening them though, this can give false readings I believe

PyongyangKipperbang · 17/01/2019 03:03

Three lines?! Thats a new one on me.....

Stephisaur · 17/01/2019 05:54

Three lines would indicate a faulty test.

Get a First Response and try testing again x

birdling · 17/01/2019 17:01

Have you tried again, op? Three lines does seem strange.
Hope you get the outcome you want.

SophiaEstepanian · 18/01/2019 02:50

@thegreatbeyond I can definitely see lines!!! Bfp?!

It does look + but get a better test, early Superdrug ones are good.

SophiaEstepanian · 18/01/2019 03:42

@thegreatbeyond Superdrug ones never work!! I'll be getting a Tesco one instead! Would you say BFP?!

OP posts:
birdling · 18/01/2019 19:29

Superdrug tests work fine, as do tesco.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 18/01/2019 19:34

If those are from digitals then no it's not a BFP. If those are from another test it's still not a BFP but more promising .

Good luck.

SophiaEstepanian · 18/01/2019 19:59

@Waitingonasmiley42 I had two positives on a rapid detection and 5 digitals!

OP posts:
PyongyangKipperbang · 18/01/2019 20:08

You need to stop taking them apart. Trust me.

I remember well the crazy making that is TTC. When you are, you will know. And it wont need you taking the test to bits, flipping the photo, or making yourself almost blind by looking under different lights.

I sympathise, I really do. But have a glass of wine, while you still can and wait a few days Flowers

thegreatbeyond · 18/01/2019 20:18

Promise they do work! Got two boys to verify my claims ;) Good luck!

Waitingonasmiley42 · 18/01/2019 20:54

If the Digitals said "pregnant" then you are definitely pregnant then.
