Bleeding after exercise

Hi all, I did a kettlebells class on Friday for the first time. I’m very unfit but looking to start being more active. Super hard work but felt like an amazing workout. The next day I started feeling crampy and then started bleeding. Period not due for 3 weeks or so.

Periods normally every 5-6 weeks. Used to be every 4 weeks like clockwork until about a year ago when I hit 40.

Is this normal after strenuous exercise? It’s pretty heavy.

No,don't think so, get yourself checked out. I've never had anything like that and I lift heavy, etc.

If you were my PT client, I'd be sending you to the GP.

I used to get bleeding after exercise - I had cervical erosion, which sounds scary but is a totally benign condition. It could be that but please do get to the doctor to get it checked.

I had a smear test about 3 months ago and it was fine so not too worried about anything on that score.

Does seem odd though.

Exercise can mess with your cycle and spotting after exercise isn't uncommon

But if you're worried get it checked out

Thanks. It’s not spotting as such but much heavier. I think it must be the massive effort of the kettle bells class. I’ll see how I am in a couple of days, perhaps take it slightly easier in the next class.

I read on here a while back somebody bled after horse riding and a few said they had random bleeds after exercise. Not sure what causes it though

Teateaandmoretea · 15/01/2019 07:08

It happens to me sometimes cause put down to fibroids.

Yeah I have this sometimes - it's nothing serious but I'd get it checked for peace of mind!
