The one I need (( 4 cube tall one )) keeps coming up as not available for online delivery.........but every other kallax in the.world is. Including the same one in a different colour. Confused

Is it worth ringing IKEA ?? Are they helpful ?? It all needs to be delivered as I dont drive.

Try ebay or gumtree?

pinkandstripey · 14/01/2019 22:13

Ask on your local fb group if anyone is going? Or give a friend (with a van) petrol money?
I think I've seen kallax on Amazon...

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 14/01/2019 22:15

Try calling or email. They might be able to tell you when/if the colour you want will be back in stock.

If the problem is transport, you can (probably) go to your nearest Ikea in your small car or on public transport, buy it, and get them to bring it to your house the next day.

Or there are always dodgy-looking men with vens hanging around near the tills.

You could probably pay a man with a van to go and collect one from your local IKEA....

BabySharkAteMyHamster · 14/01/2019 22:27

Our local is 200 miles away !! I live in the wilds of Cumbria so don't mind sucking up the £35 delivery charge.......if it comes to it we'll get the train down and go to the Nottingham or Manchester one but it's an expense i'd rather avoid.

IKEA need to.come.to the sticks, theyd make a damn fortune.

Would Edinburgh be closer or Glasgow?

Thishatisnotmine · 14/01/2019 22:38

I was once on hold for 20 minutes to Ikea. They play abba on loop. Really helpful when you get hold of them though!

BabySharkAteMyHamster · 14/01/2019 22:47

This is the one I need.

Amazon do deliver but it's almost twice as expensive.......im also not sure if it's legit kallax. My sons billy bookcase from amazon collapsed but my dds is still going strong 20 years later.

Id also still need to order a load from IKEA which costs. Im weighing up whether its worth getting the train through (( easiest one to get to is Manchester as I know the area )) does anyone know if it's likely to just be a stocking issue ?? And how easy it is to order delivery instore ??

I would ring them, I have never bought anything from ikea before last week. One of the chests of drawers I bought was too big and they collected within 48 hours free of charge.

I found arranging the collection by webchat very productive and virtually pain free!

BabySharkAteMyHamster · 14/01/2019 23:07

Ooooohhhh, I shall try that.

It's only for ds bedroom, my dds white, IKEA furniture still looks lovely and as good as the day I bought it 20 years ago. Hopefully it's worth all the hassle !

Hope you get it sorted. We've got kallax in every room in our house. It's fantastic stuff.

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 14/01/2019 23:17

I think it was on here that someone said they made a bed out of kallax!

CrunchyEggshells · 14/01/2019 23:43

Not that it’s very convenient, but might the Gateshead Ikea be closer depending on where in Cumbria you are?
