Question for dog owners..

Would you be offended if I informed you (politely!) that your dog had done a poo if I knew you hadn't noticed (and that it was definitely your dog too!?

Very often, whilst pushing the buggy round the park, I'll see a dog walking behind its owner, stop and take a poo, and then trot back to its owners side and all the while the owner is unaware and the poo is left there to be stepped in/poked at by a toddler. Not that it should make a difference but this is in a city park so not a field in the countryside.

This happened today and I really wanted to say 'excuse me, you didn't see but your dog just did a poo over there' but I wasn't sure if it was not the done thing. What would you suggest I do?

Good to know that none of you would be offended if I mentioned it. Tbh I never have in the past as I've always been nervous about getting a short/angry response. And is there a way of saying it that doesn't come across as a bit snarky.. even if I did it in my nicest voice? Grin

I kind of assumed that a dog owner would be keeping at least half an eye on their dog during a walk. Especially as, in the park near me, there's lots of other off-lead dogs so I'd have thought they'd want to monitor those interactions.

@backinthebox sorry about your dog related experiences. Your neighbour sounds like a right knobber.
