Nice, South of France, with small kids - any recommendations?

I went to Nice as an 18yo so whilst I loved it, didn't really notice any kid friendly stuff.

Can anyone recommend any family friendly things to do in and around Nice? I remember Monaco being a great day out, and there used to be a water park outside the city but no idea if it's any good or even still open.

Water Park is till open though I have not been there. Monaco Oceanography museum worth a visit. As for other things, it would depend on the age of the children.

I'd base myself in antibes along the coast. Lots of gorgeous little sandy beaches there.

Do day trips but be warned of very steep roads and mad traffic.
Aquarium in Monaco is brilliant, water park antibes... OK..

Oceanography place in Monaco, also the changing of the guard and the Prince’s cat collection.

Train along the coast to Italy (Vingtimiglia, market day on Friday).

Henri Matisse gallery

There is a fantastic playground near the old town, with s huge climbing frame in the shape of a whale or fish. Apart from
“It’s opposite my neohew’s school”, I’m afraid I can’t tell you where it is!

I remember the old town. It had an old carousel in the park there when I went last.

The kids are 7 and 4. Will definitely go to Monaco and do the Aquarium. Is there a zoo there too?
