No appetite - when to worry?

My little one has had a nasty virus and understandably not eaten much. However now they’re mostly better but still totally uninterested in food. Today the food total has been a bowl of cereal, a smoothie, a few bites of spaghetti and a yogurt. Usually he eats a load and loves food but is just saying he’s not hungry. When, and should I, be concerned?

Not yet. It’s totally normal. He’s getting over feeling unwell.

I wouldn't worry tbh, it's surprising how little they can survive on. Kids won't let themselves starve. When mine are sick and lose their appetite I just leave little bowls of some of their favourite snacks on the table and let them help themselves. It's not nice to see them not eat especially if they're usually good eaters but I find pushing it on them just makes it worse.

That sounds like plenty of food for a child getting over an illness. I wouldn't worry at all!

Thanks all - I’m just used to him pestering me for food!
