Switching to UC

I’m a single parent of 3 aged between 8 and 16, I work 32 hours per week and currently receiving ctc and wtc.

I have a change of circumstance coming up - oldest dc is moving in with his dad after gcses as he’s going to work for him (his dad lives 40 miles away so it’s more convenient for our son) so I know I’ll be switched onto UC.

I’ve read lots about it and it’s worrying me, but I’m also worried about if switching after Brexit and all the unknowns thats going to bring, will cause more problems than if I asked to switch now.

Would it be sensible to ask to change now so that I have some sort of idea what it’s about or should I wait and see?

This won't trigger a change of circumstances move into UC, tax credits will write to you asking if your oldest is staying in education you simply say no, he's not continuing and they will take him off your claim. Families with 3dc can t apply til next month anyway.
